14u boys fall one win short of the Championship this weekend!

Julius Garcia hit an oppo 2-run home run. Ricky Romero had two hits, an RBI and two stolen bases. Danny Ernst doubled and stole a base.

Boys add to their hardware with three final games in their last four tournaments.

14u Birds put up 12 runs on 12 hits led by bombs behind Eli Tortorella and Julian Dougherty.

Tortorella drove in 3 on the day. Dougherty was 2 for 2 with a double and 2 RBIs in addition to his HR. Robby Monaco was 3 for 3 with 2 doubles and drove in one.

Monaco got the win on the mound and struck out three. Boys look to bring home a Championship win for their moms on Saturday!

History was made today! Jailbirds came out on top in a fun Joliet baseball matchup vs East Joliet Athletics. It was a joy to watch both teams get a chance to play in the Old Joliet Prison.

Danny Ernst nearly hit for the cycle, just a triple shy of it. Ernst got a hold of one and skied it over the left field fence. He was 3 for 3 on the day and drove in three.

Robby Monaco was also 3 for 3 with a double. Robby had 2 RBIs.

Julian Dougherty and Ben Lee also doubled.

Winning Pitch, Ricky Romero started things on the mound for the Birds and struck out 4 over 2.0 innings of work. Ben Lee pitched one inning and had 3 Ks.

Boys are back in action in Troy’s Mother’s Day tourney next weekend!

Hard to believe that our once kid athletes are now Seniors getting ready close their HS chapters. Congrats to Patrick Holmes on his senior night at Joliet West. Patrick wears his passion for the game on his sleeves and has always questioned what he could do more of to improve his game. We are grateful to have been a part of your life. 14u wins the Brickstone Opener on a walk off single by Robby Monaco! The game was led by a strong outing by Ricky Romero, throwing 5.2 innings allowing only 2 earned runs and 8 strikeouts.

Championship game has been set! J’Birds look to fly to the W against the Lockport Cobra’s.
