Next stop, Juneau, AK. The Treadwell Arena has invited V4Hockey to join them in their effort to make hockey better by making it more convenient for players to get the supplies they need, when they need them.

Contact us if you know a rink that should also have V4Hockey.

Come join our crew! The season begins each year in mid-July and runs through April. Multiple positions are currently open:

• Recreation Activity Leader I: 10-20 hours/week, $14.51-$14.98/hr (DOQ), closes Monday, June 27.
• Recreation Activity Leader II: 37.5 hours/week, $17.65-$18.84/hr (DOQ), closes Friday, June 24.
• Recreation Maintenance Worker: Approximately 20 hours/week, $20.12-$21.47/hr (DOQ), closes Friday, June 24.

Immediate Need for Hockey Scorekeepers!

We are looking for multiple part-time/seasonal Rec Activity Leader I for the upcoming season. Come join our awesome staff!
As a RAL I you must be 18 years of age and able to work nights and weekends through April 24, 2022. Major duties include working the front office, customer service, skate sharpening, cash handling, and opening/closing the facility. Starting pay is $14.51/hour.

Get your skates and gear ready cause Treadwell Arena opens tomorrow! It’s a soft opening with a limited schedule for the month of August.

Do you recognize these guys? If you’ve been to the rink in the past 10 years, you’ve likely seen them in the front office providing top-notch customer service, or behind the wheel driving the Zamboni. Need your skates sharpened? These guys put the perfect edge on almost any pair of skates. Michael Brna, Thomas McKenzie & Jeremy Lavender have over 45 years of combined ice rink experience!

We are preparing to open for our 19th season and Brna is responsible for installing all 19 sheets of ice. Thank you Brna! He truly is a master of ice making and has shared his specialized skills and knowledge with the team over the years and he, Jeremy and Thomas have worked very hard to provide the community with the very best sheet of ice for the 2021-2022 season. We are excited to re-open the rink for the season and hope to see you on the ice soon.

16-year-old goalie becomes first female player selected in OHL draft Taya Currie, a 16-year-old goalie, became the first female player to be chosen in the Ontario Hockey League draft when Sarnia selected her in the 14th round (No. 267) on Saturday.

Treadwell Arena is offering Disco Roller Skating every Friday night of June, beginning June 4, from 6 to 7 p.m. Reservations are required and open every Monday at noon before the Friday skate. Register for your spot here (bit.ly/registerCBJparks). Admission costs $5 and payment is taken during online registration. Maximum capacity is 30 participants.

Please note: Roller skates are not provided; participants must bring their own. Acceptable skates include roller, derby, inline, and speed. Masks are required for unvaccinated individuals.

Get your skating in before the 2020-2021 season comes to a close! The last day of ice is Sunday, April 25. Register today for open skating this weekend or Monday, April 19 at noon for sessions next week. Register for your spot here bit.ly/registerCBJparks. Admission is $5 and payment is taken during online registration.

Maximum capacity on the ice is 28; maximum capacity in the building is 50. Please only reserve space for individuals who will be ice skating. Masks and social distancing are required. Guests are encouraged to bring their own skates and helmets, but skate rentals are available and included in admission.
