Meet Janel Taylor and her son, Trygve.
To say they are a force is an understatement. Both individually and collectively. They joined us from Juneau and our event was better for it.
I sat down with Janel and we had such a nice chat. She was nice enough to answer a million questions đ Janel is mom to three energetic boys. When Trygve enrolled in hunterâs education course at age 9, he caught the shooting bug and heâs been advancing ever since. Janel spent lots of time photographing her son while shooting, all the while thinking âI can do thisâŚâ so she did.
I watched her, and her son, and was speechless. The ease with which they shoot is nothing short of inspiring. As a woman in a male-dominated sport, she is undeniably skilled. She doesnât show up to look cute and girly: she shows up to win. And she does. Her name was called several times during the weekâs award ceremonies.
Iâm so looking forward to see Janel and Trygve at the Juneau Gun Club in September. Thank you Janel âşď¸

Our spring 2018 youth trap team open house and sign up is this Sunday, March 11th at 2:30PM. If you have a child who is between 4th and 12th grade who needs a Sunday afternoon activity, bring them up to check it out!

Winter league is upon us!!
This Thursday December 7th will be the kickoff to the 2018 season. if you havenât gotten a team together donât sweat it, forms are available now and you have a few weeks to register. Teams must be a minimum of 6 people and a maximum of 11. So if youâre looking for something fun to do this winter instead of sitting at home with the blues, come on out!

MEMBERS! The annual meeting is happening this Thursday, October 26th at 7:00 PM. If you have yet to re-up you can do so before the meeting starts. We urge you to come see what's new and be a part of what makes this club function. Hope to see you all there!
We need help with snow removal at the JGC. Rick has done a terrific job in keeping snow off the shooting lanes but we need some help in digging out the trap houses. If you could volunteer to help remove some snow tonight (5pm) and tomorrow night (5pm), it would be a great help.
Please help out tonight at 5pm. Many hands make light work!!

Today was the last day of Spring Shotgun club, and they ended the year with a 100-bird Tournament. Garret Hermann got a new personal best 22 out of 25, twice!!! And ended with an overall score of 82 out of 100, which put him in 1st place in the Senior Varsity Division. Next up is the state tournament in Anchorage - way to go Garret! A huge thanks to the coaches, and other members of the Gun Club, they've been amazing to work with.

We are sorry to say that the Juneau Gun Club lost a good shooter and board member today. Craig Salzillo passed away today while at work. Our condolences go out to his family and friends.

General information
The Juneau Gun Club welcomes the general public, new shooters and visitors to the community to come out and use our facility. Whether you're new to shotgun sports and interested in trying your hand at trapshooting, or an experienced shooter wanting to get involved in local competition, you'll find everyone at the Juneau Gun Club ready to help you get acquainted with the facility and the sport. Our members are a mix of new and experienced shooters, so don't be bashful.......come out and shoot !
Public hours are: Sunday 10:00 - 2:00 p.m.
Wednesday 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.

Shooters can purchase either individual shooting cards or a "punch card". Ammunition is NOT included in the price of a round. Ammo can be purchased at the club.
Ear and eye protection is also available and is "required" on the firing line - no exceptions.
The club has a limited number of 12 & 20 gauge "loaner" shotguns available for new shooters.
Members can shoot during other hours by appointment. The clubhouse and range can also be rented at reasonable rates for special events.
The Juneau Gun Club is a "Shotgun Only" shooting range.
