These were wise words. What is your focus? You can't be a master at everything. If you are trying to maximize your strength, your endurance will suffer. If you are training for a marathon, your strength will not be at its full potential. It's the way the body works. Give yourself the space to be okay with this, or you risk overtraining.

Soda dependant? Trying to stay away from alcohol but like a fancy drink with dinner?? Or plain old just don't like drinking water? Have you tried sparkling water???
I read this great article the other day about sparkling/carbonated water, and now, of course I can't find it again to share it but I'll share the conclusions I've come to. Sparkling water is great for you! It is, in fact, just plain old water, with sparkles! Ooo....shiney!! :) BUT! There are some things to be aware of! Not all that glitters is gold! READ YOUR LABELS! A lot of sparkling waters sneak in large amounts of sodium and sometimes *gasp!* even sugar...especially in the flavored varieties. The sodium is really only a concern if you have heart or other health concerns that make you sensitive to the effects of sodium. And sugar...well...do I really even need to go there? There are also a lot of concerns about the theory that carbonation seeps calcium out of your bones and makes you more susceptible to osteopenia or osteoporosis. However, the research is just not there, in my opinion. (Just like red meat is going to give you cancer...hmmm...) So go ahead! Boost your hydration, and watch your cup sparkle! :)
The Holiday season and all my over-consumption is soon drawing to an end. With a light at the end of the tunnel, I've decided to REALLY hit my body hard and do a full a reset with #TheWhole30. Who wants to join me?? Let me be clear...this is NOT a diet, not an attempt to lose weight...it's merely time to reset, break habits and "start fresh" again. Not saying you won't lose weight, if that's a goal, but this is one thing they encourage: "Do not step on a scale for 30 days!" Simply, experience the effects in how you feel! This is also not a new year's resolution...so why am I doing it now? Why not? I like fresh starts...but you shouldn't wait for the New Year, just to do it, it just so happens, that's the time of year it is!! 30 days...a few tough guidelines to live by...a happier body at the end of it all! Let me know if you're going to join in and we can keep each other accountable! Merry Belated Christmas, Happy New Year, Happy Body! :)
