Rich will tell you that he used to be afraid to getting anything out of his lower cabinets; because he may not get back up. Rich can now squat to full depth, with weight and that fear is gone. Saturday was testing day for 11 year old Aidan. Here he is pulling 65kg (143lbs.) Weightlifting has improved Aidan's focus, confidence, posture and all around well being. Weightlifting is a family sport, Mom and Dad also get in on the fun.

Strength training is for all skill levels. Aidan is 11 years old and is learning more about his body mechanics as well as self awareness. He has made large improvements over when he initially began. At Griffin Strength and Performance we like to focus on correction and prevention in addition to getting stronger. Aidan is almost 11 years old and suffers from something many of us do; rolled shoulders and lack of upper back strength. We continue to work on his form, but since beginning his training he stands up taller, walks with more confidence and feels better. Making small changes creates a huge difference.

Killing reps at 185lbs and using a belt for the first time. Meaghan is a nurse and a student, she had underused her lats for a long time; been working hard to make sure she engages them and her lifts have only gone up from there.
Family fun day at the gym, working with a program, because even the coach needs coaching. Deads, bench, squats.
Pin squats and bench press isometrics. Simple workout with good warm-up.
Long workout today, lots of fun and helped with some mental hardening.

Pushed the sled 4 rounds, this was the mentally challenging part. Worked from 180 to 450 in 90lbs steps.
Finished with some muscle cleans
135 starting with a set of 10 and dropping 2 reps per set till set was 2. Started every set on the minute.
Can't wait to get back to it tomorrow and helping get people moving well again. Love this work.

Deadlifts working up to 455x5
Overhead Press 155x5 for 5 sets
Then just pushed around a sled with 500lbs added for 3 sets.
All in all fun and challenging. Feels good to be back at it after a week off for vacation.
Another conditioning day but with a client this time. Terri looked a little beat by the end but loved it. She worked so hard today and I'm proud of her. Workout was as follows.
Each set was ran three times with zero breaks between exercises and 3 minutes each set.
A1: 20 kettlebell swings
A2: 20 bodyweight squats
A3: 5 lunges each side
B: 40 foot farmers carry with 20 deadlifts spread out in sets of 5
C1: Max set of pullups
C2: straight arm lat pull down with bands
Finished with a heavy sled drag with as much weight as each of us could handle. Legs and b***y were on fire. I applaud Terri for all her effort. She gave me 100% for the entirety of the session. :)
Great day with clients today, both Louise and Sable did well with conditioning doing a circuit style while hitting some main lifts.
My own training was light today as I wasn't feeling a heavy day.
Did 5 sets of 10 working to a light 275 on squats and 6 sets of 5 on deadlifts working 415. Finished off with some heavy sled work closing out at 450lbs added to sled to get my legs on fire. All and all a great day at GSP.
Getting back to adding conditioning once a week. Did today's with Jakob. It was short sweet and to the point. All super or giant sets:
A1: kettlebell swings x20
A2:goblet squats x10
A3: 1 arm overhead lunges with a kettle bell x5 per side
B1: pushups x20
B2: overhead suitcase carry 40ft each way
C1: reverse pushup x10
C2: renegade row x5 per arm
Short to no break between sets with a 2 minute break between each circuit.
We followed up with some rotator cuff work and some slingshot hip work for that nice b***y and squat help.
Should take about 45 min for those that want to try this out. Remember quality > speed.
