Over the past 8 months, Kairie has been an essential part of our Big Island Ice ohana, keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes. From handling day-to-day clerical work to making sure all things office were dialed in. Her organization, and dedication made a lasting impact on our team.
As she heads to Utah to continue her college journey, we want to wish her nothing but success in this next chapter. We know she’s going to do amazing things!

Employee Spotlight: Rob Pagan

Meet Rob Pagan, a cornerstone of the Big Island Ice team for the past 17 years. Rob started his journey with us as a delivery driver, learning the business from the ground up. Through hard work, dedication, and leadership, he has grown into our Operatikns Manager, playing a critical role in everything we do today. From organizing daily delivery routes to managing employee schedules and keeping our day-to-day operations running smoothly, Rob is at the heart of our operation. His experience and commitment help ensure we deliver the reliable, quality ice our customers count on every day. We’re proud to have Rob on our team- his leadership, work ethic, and loyalty make a lasting impact across the entire company. Mahalo, Rob, for 17 years of dedication to Big Island Ice.

Big Island Ice is now available in Hilo at the Texaco gas station on the corner of Haili street and Kino’ole street. Customers can now pick up both 7-lb and 20-lb bags of ice, ready for beach days, fishing, parties, and everyday needs. We’re proud to keep expanding services across the island and making it easier than ever to get reliable, high quality ice when you need it.

Thanks to everyone who donated at last week’s blood drive. You helped Blood Bank of Hawaii exceed its goal by more than 20% and 67 people donated for the first time! Save the date - the next blood drive is June 16-18 at Outrigger Kona Resort & Spa. Big Island Ice will see you there!

Day 1 of Blood Bank of Hawaii’s Keauhou Blood Drive is underway at the Outrigger Kona Resort & Spa! Mahalo to the community members who donated blood. It’s not too late to schedule an appointment to donate tomorrow or Thursday. Definitely a worthwhile and life saving event for Hawaii Island. In case you missed it...Blood Bank Of Hawaii is returning to Kona and Big Island Ice is once again happy to support this important community event. This time, the Blood Drive will be in a brand new location - Outrigger Kona Resort & Spa (78-128 Ehukai St. Kailua-Kona, HI 96740). Parking will be free. There will be validation given to donors. Be sure to sign up for a time slot in advance. Mahalo for supporting the Blood Bank’s live saving work!

I’d like to introduce our most recent employee of the quarter for the end of 2025, Mr. Daniel Domingo. Daniel has been with us for seven months and has proven to be a huge asset to our company.
