Life has a funny way of coming full circle. ❄️

Back in 2005, Big Island Ice Company was just getting started. We had one customer—Doris Place—and produced only six tons of ice a day.

At the time, our biggest competitor on the west side of Hawaiʻi Island was Allied Ice Company. They were the established name, and we were the new kid on the block trying to earn our place one customer at a time.

Fast forward 21 years.

Today, Allied Ice Company is no longer producing ice, and we had the privilege of delivering our first order to Kona Liquor Store—located in the very same building where Allied Ice once operated.

Standing there today was a reminder of how far this journey has taken us.

This isn’t about celebrating someone else’s chapter coming to an end. Businesses evolve, ownership changes, and industries change with them. Instead, it’s a reminder that hard work, consistency, and treating people right can open doors you never imagined when you first started.

From one customer to serving communities across Hawaiʻi Island, we’re incredibly grateful to every customer, employee, retailer, and supporter who has helped make this journey possible.

Mahalo for believing in a small local company all those years ago. Here’s to continuing to serve our island—one bag of ice, one delivery, and one relationship at a time.
