We love our lifeguards at the Kannapolis YMCA! This Friday July 31st is Lifeguard Appreciation Day so please take the time to stop by our lobby and leave a note of kind words and encouragement to let the team know how much we appreciate all of their efforts to keep us safe while having fun in the pool!

🤩Wow! SO INSPIRING! What a day to see nearly 100 athletes compete in the Inaugural TRI FOR THE Y - Sprint Triathlon right here in beautiful Kannapolis, NC!

📍The Kannapolis YMCA had the pleasure of welcoming athletes from 5 states, Virginia, South Carolina, Florida, Alabama and all over North Carolina. Athletes ranged in age from 15 years old to 70.

🏃‍♀️🏃The fastest time of the day was from Luca Di cioccio from right here in Kannapolis, NC with a time 1:02:46. Another Kannapolis native, 17 year old Benjamin Rheinecker finished second, with a time of 1:03:26. Third overall went to Robby Pierlot of Cornelius with a time of 1:09:03.

💨The top female athletes were all from Charlotte, NC:
Katherine Nobles, McKenzie Lee and Lorence Morell-Vega

📣A big shoutout to our first place finisher in the 60+ division, Mike Jennings (70 yrs), from Reston, Virginia, with a time of 1:30:46!
