City United Academy S.F.S. Boys Wrapped up the Big Heart Tournament Today with The 13U’s Boys going Home the Chip 🏆 and our 16U falling short 1-0 in a tough fought game last night vs Global FC finishing as the Runner-Up. Overall it was a Great Experience for the Youth in the Northeast Area of KC. Being able to provide Opportunities for them to play the game they love as well as being able to Mentor, Teach, and help them Build Confidence is truly a Blessing, one of the Best Jobs in the World.

Day 1 of Spring Soccer for Success is in the books—and what a powerful start.

I’m incredibly grateful for the partnership between City United and the U.S. Soccer Foundation, and for the opportunity to make a real impact in our community. Working with Youth from all over the Globe that come together for their love of the Game. From mentoring young players to working alongside my high school boys as they grow into leaders and coaches themselves, this journey is truly a blessing.

We’re just getting started. Together, we will continue to grow, inspire change, and challenge our kids to rise above the norms of their environments—to believe in more, to become more, and to lead the way for others. 💪⚽️💪

City United Academy was founded by Rick Hawkins and Eta Arrey to be more than just a soccer program it’s a movement to uplift, empower, and equip urban youth in Kansas City. Rooted in elite player development, the Academy provides free access to high-level soccer training, academic support, and holistic mentorship. Beyond the pitch, students engage in tutoring, coding workshops, and hands-on trades training building the skills and confidence they need to thrive in school, in their communities, and in life. Guided by a mission to remove financial barriers and invest in the whole child, City United ensures every young athlete is seen, supported, and prepared to lead.
