Many women don’t have a “bad taste in men or friends” problem.
They may have a nervous system
that learned to mistake intensity for intimacy.
When survival mode has been a normal way of living, your body doesn’t crave peace…
it craves what feels familiar even if it costs you peace.
So you may feel drawn to:
• attention
• being chosen
• immediate “chemistry”
• rescue energy
• emotional highs
• love bombing after chaos
• needing to be needed
• relief that feels like genuine care
• connection that moves too fast
But let’s be honest, sis...
Attraction is not the same as alignment.
And chemistry is not confirmation.
Healing from survival patterns changes what feels “right” to you. You stop chasing what excites or soothes your wounds, and start recognizing what can actually sustain you.
You begin to value:
• consistency
• discipline
• peace (even when it feels unfamiliar)
• honesty (private and public)
• accountability
• emotional safety
• regulation in uncertainty
• reciprocity
• shared values
• Godly alignment
And here’s the part most people don’t speak on:
Sometimes the snare isn’t the person....
It’s the version of you still choosing from pain, fear, or lack. 😮💨
So the real question becomes:
Where am I still qualifying relationships by survival standards… instead of stewardship?
I learned the hard way that healing isn’t just about who you choose to be around or to build life with.
It’s about how you choose...
And what in you is doing the choosing.
If you’ve ever experienced this, or if this resonates, you’re not alone.
I’m creating space for women to unpack this,
heal, and rebuild from the inside out.
Follow along. We’re growing for real over here. 🌱
