Look down. See what you’re wearing. Do you remember where you bought your outfit? Do you know where it was made? Do you know who made it? Do you know what they were paid to make it? If not, it might be time to ask your favorite brands: ?

Since having my daughter, it hasn't been as easy to sew. Crochet, on the one hand (pun intended 😹), has been much more doable!

Just a few days ago, I wasn't sure where my wedding dress would be coming from... The great to "buy, borrow, or make" conundrum!
Now, I have not one—but three!!! dresses I'm going to attempt to meld together.
First, I have my Granny's dress, which sentimental for many reasons, but perhaps most meaningful is because she passed away earlier this year.

My momma also wore my Granny's dress, so that adds another layer of awesome into the mix 💛
Then, I was gifted my cousins dress that she didn't end up using, which gives me a solid base and more modern silhouette to build on!
Finally, after hearing about my project, my to-be mother in law offered up her dress as well!!
Dresses from four different women, each strong, caring, and important to me in their own special ways 💛 I'm over-the-moon excited to get started!!!
I only hope I can do these fabulous women–and their dresses– justice!

It all starts with some yarn and a hook. It's kind of magical in that way 💛

Even with a tried and true pattern, crochet is sometimes trial and error...
That mass of yarn in the middle is what I just had to rip out from a bun beanie that was turning out to be too big.
