You keep circling back to the same question:
Will this ever change?

And here’s what I know.
Yes.
BUT not through willpower alone.
Not by trying harder.
And not by becoming the hero in everyone else’s story.

Change happens when you realize: ā€œI have a choice.ā€

That’s the Hero moment, when agency awakens and you step forward, speak up, set the boundary, ask for the help.

Your Hero moments matter.
But here’s the truth: Hero energy can become exhausting when you try to carry it alone.

Each Enneagram Type steps into agency differently, AND each Type has a pattern of trying to do it solo.

Swipe to find where you courageously step forward... and where you might need support to sustain it. šŸ’›
šŸŽ§ I unpack this fully in the Wholehearted Enneagram Podcast episode: ā€œThe Hero | When Agency Awakens.ā€

This isn’t about doing more. It’s about recognizing that your brave choices were never meant to be carried alone.

The tree isn’t broken. It’s just been carrying too much weight for too long. šŸ˜“

That’s often what’s at play when you are living as the Villain in your story. Self-sabotage that once protected you but now keeps you bent low. When you release that weight? You don’t just survive. You heal & spring back.

The Wholehearted Enneagram journey helps you see the protective origins of your patterns… so you can let go of what’s no longer serving you.

Remember the old basement? Unfinished, dingy, where I told stories for 8 months while we waited?

This one’s finished. Better lighting. Cleaner. (Still needs work, but don’t we all? šŸ˜…)

Here’s what’s wild: We thought moving into a finished house meant the hard part was over.

And then the city started tearing up our yard. Massive machines. A gaping hole in the ground. Infrastructure work that needed to happen - underground, hidden, that we didn’t even know about.

And isn’t that how it always goes?

You do the surface work. You move forward. You think you’re done.

And then God says, ā€˜Actually... we’re going deeper.’

The old basement was about sorting through what we were carrying.

This new basement? It’s about building on a stronger foundation.

Different work. Deeper work. But still... work.

So if you’re in a season where things are getting shaken up - where you thought you’d arrived but you’re actually just going deeper?

Me too. And it’s okay.

Welcome to the new basement. Let’s go. šŸ«¶šŸ½

When pain goes unhealed, it doesn’t disappear.
It often turns into protection.

And at first? That protection feels necessary. Wise. Strong.

But over time, what once kept you safe can quietly begin to keep you stuck.

This is the Villain role. Not as a label for bad people, but as a pattern that forms when fear, self-protection, or unresolved hurt begins to shape your choices.

Each Enneagram Type self-sabotages differently. Swipe to find where protection might have hardened into control… AND what the invitation toward freedom looks like. ā¤ļøā€šŸ©¹

šŸŽ§ I unpack this fully in the podcast episode: ā€œThe Villain | When Protection Turns into Control.ā€

This isn’t about shame. It’s about awareness. Noticing the pattern is the first step toward healing.

You keep circling back to the same hurt.
The same questions.
The same stuck places.
And you wonder: Can this actually change?

Here’s what’s true.
Yes.
BUT not through willpower, spiritual intensity, or trying harder.

Change happens when you understand where you are in your story, and respond with wisdom instead of reaction.

This week, I’m exploring The Victim role, not as something to shame, but as the place where healing begins.

Being a victim means something painful happened outside your control. That’s so real.

Victim mentality forms when pain becomes the lens through which everything is interpreted, and agency disappears.

Each Enneagram Type experiences this differently. Swipe to find where you might be stuck, and what the invitation to holy lament looks like. ā¤ļøā€šŸ©¹

šŸŽ§ I unpack this in the latest podcast episode: ā€œThe Victim | When Pain Shapes Your Story.ā€ (it's under 10 minutes with an actionable takeaway!)

This isn’t about fixing you quickly. It’s about creating space for healing to happen, with God’s compassionate love and truth.

✨ Response, Not Responsibility ✨

There’s a weight many of us carry that we were never meant to hold.

Responsibility says: ā€œThis is on me.ā€
Response says: ā€œGod has moved, and I am answering.ā€

Each Enneagram Type carries a different version of responsibility, and God meets each of us with a different invitation to respond.

Swipe through to find yours. šŸ’™

Wholehearted isn’t a feeling.
It’s a way of living from how God made you.

Most likely you don’t need more insight.
You need help receiving what you already know and releasing what you were never meant to carry.

That’s why this month’s episodes of the Wholehearted Enneagram Podcast aren’t about striving hard for a new version of you.

They’re about:
• stopping the inner proving
• letting go of false responsibility
• and learning how to live from belovedness instead of pressure

If you’ve entered this year feeling tired, uncertain, or quietly carrying more than you want to admit, this is for you.

Not to fix you.
Not to push you forward.
But to help you live integrated instead of divided.

Save this if you’re done striving.
Share it with someone who’s ready to live from what’s true.

Some gifts aren’t meant to be opened on Christmas morning.

Some are received later,
after the house is quiet,
after the expectations loosen,
after you realize how much you were holding just to get through.

These are the gifts that stay.

Grace. Peace. Hope. Rest. Strength.
Not earned. Not achieved.
Still being offered, right where you are.

Whether Christmas was joyful, disappointing, lonely, overwhelming, or just exhausting…
this invitation didn’t expire when the calendar turned.

šŸŽ„Christmastide has just begun.

Swipe for your Enneagram Type and notice what might still be waiting to be received.
Read the Scripture slowly.
Whisper the prayer if you can.
Let it land where it needs to.

And if you’re craving a few quiet minutes to let these truths settle deeper, the last two episodes of The Wholehearted Enneagram Podcast were created as audio gifts for the rest of Christmastide. šŸŽ

You tell yourself, ā€œIt shouldn’t feel this heavy. I should be able to handle this.ā€

But the truth?

You might be carrying far more than God ever asked you to hold.

Holiday expectations press on the tender places,
the unspoken roles you fill,
the pressure to keep everyone happy,
the ache over what has changed,
and the hope that this year will finally feel different.

But here’s the invitation of Advent:

✨You can care deeply without carrying everything.
This is holy indifference.
This is benevolent detachment.
This is making space for God’s Presence instead of the pressure to make ā€œitā€ happen.

Each Enneagram Type carries something unique into the holidays…
and each receives a distinct invitation from the Lord to lay down what isn’t theirs to hold.

Swipe through for your Type.
Let the Scripture wash over you.
And breathe this in:
You don’t have to hold the whole world together.
You’re held by the One who already does.

If this speaks to you, save it.
If someone you love is carrying too much, send it to them.
And if you need one quiet moment of peace this week…

šŸŽ„šŸ™šŸ¼ Christmas Breath Prayers (Save for later)

This time of year pulls at your attention, your energy, and your heart.

But in the middle of all of it, you can pause for just a moment.

Breathe deep.
Slow down.
And reconnect to God’s presence right where you are.

I made a breath prayer for each Enneagram Type to help you enter this season with peace, grounding, and grace.

Save the one that speaks to you.
Send the one your friend might need. šŸ«¶šŸ½
