What a start to the new season at WCL!

This was a long time coming. What an innings Gaurav Agarwal!

Gaurav remained unbeaten on 73 off 33 balls at a strike rate of 221 🤩with 14 boundaries and 1 huge six, left the opposition clueless. And coming back to his form was Rohit Sharma, with a high power 57 off 24 balls (8x4s and 3 # # # 6s).

We were a decent total of 165 against Katy Ravens, but these 2 literally made it look piece of cake.

We won! What a thriller!

United strikers scored a formidable 153/7 with a calm and composed Raj Chaddha scoring a 52 off 34 balls. Fearsome bowling by Fiyaz, while Nishikant and Dinesh picked up key wickets, and Gaurav behind the wickets to blocking everything and everyone else fielding to their best, to keep the run rate to an attainable 7 an over.
Rising Stars started in style with Rohit Sharma firing every bowler to get a quick 26 off 12 balls (4x 4s and 1x 6s). But once he got out, wickets started to fall in quick succession till Gaurav came in to bat after a dramatic and controversial run out. He set things up nicely, 26 off 20 to bring the run rate back at the required rate. But we were still a good 60 runs away with only 3 wickets in hand. And when they thought it was almost over, Nishikant and Fiyaz put up a brilliant 47 run 8th wicket partnership. Fiyaz finished it in style with a huge six to get us the much needed win. The depth in batting is showing up, we are shaping up to be a tough team to beat.

Fiyaz was declared the MVP for his all round effort, Nishikant was a close 2nd. But it was definitely a team effort to pull this through.

The team has had a good Thanksgiving break after a good win against ATVS stars. We come with a positive mindset to play United Strikers. Go Rising stars!
