Sports photography in this district guarantees opportunities to photograph champions. This is another trophy for a district that wins across all sports.
The Katy Tigers are 2026 Texas 6A Division II softball state champions. They beat Forney 7-2 at McCombs Field in Austin, capping a 39-5 season and the program’s third state title since 2015.
Freshman Haley Schmitt threw a complete game and walked off with tournament MVP.
Congratulations, Katy. 🏆

Class of 2027 Player Spotlight: Drew Merrell
Two points from the state final.
As a junior, Drew set for a 40-6 Tompkins team that won twenty straight before the season ended in the 6A state semifinal. First team all-district, an AVCA Watch List nod, and one high school season still to come.

These aren’t the moments editors search for, but they are the ones I love to capture most.
Capturing these moments is why I love sports photography.

Houston is becoming the volleyball capital.
These are a few of the greater Houston volleyball athletes stepping into a NCAA Division I season this fall.
I look forward to photographing some of these incredible athletes in their new colors this fall.

30 spots. 6 Olympians.
Here’s a few of the women wearing red, white & blue this summer for the 2026 USA Volleyball Nations League.
Already in my camera roll this season: Poulter, Thompson, O’Neal, Rodriguez, Eggleston, Samedy, McCage, Banks, Hoffman, Scott, and Skinner. Coached now by Erik Sullivan, fresh off his LOVB Austin run.
Pool 1 opens in Quebec City on June 3.

Down two sets to one. Then they took it.
The Dallas Pulse erased a 2–1 deficit and beat the Omaha Supernovas in five sets to win the 2026 MLV Championship. The first 5-set final in MLV history, decided 17–15 in the fifth.
Sofia Maldonado Diaz, Finals MVP. 26 kills. Five in the fifth. She finished it herself.
First expansion team to win it all. Year one. Crown.

MLV Semifinal recap, Comerica Center, Frisco. The four-seed Omaha Supernovas just upset the top-seeded Indy Ignite in five sets to reach the 2026 MLV Championship.
There’s a moment in every upset where the room realizes what it’s watching. Thursday night, it came in set four.
Omaha walked in 14-14. A roster that had survived three setters, two head coaches, and a midseason culture reset. Indy owned the best regular season in MLV history. Twenty-three wins. The most efficient offense in the league.
For most of five sets, the favorite looked like the favorite.
Set three went 29-27 to Indy. Most teams lose a heartbreaker like that and fold. The Supernovas came back, took set four, and won set five 15-13.
Twelve months ago, in this exact round, the four-seed Indy Ignite knocked out top-seeded Omaha. This year, four-seed Omaha returned the favor exactly. Reversed seeds. Same result.
Saturday is the Match for a Million. Omaha Supernovas vs Dallas Pulse. 2 PM CT, live on ION.
I’ll be there.
