Gregory was electric last night for the home opener against USC. The venue, crowd, and play were all incredible.

It was my first experience in Gregory and one I will not forget. More to come!

It was a win in 3 last night for OTHS. With a bye on Friday, it is time to rest, recover, and refocus before district play continues next week.

Texas State Volleyball found its first win of 2026 in a celebration that lasted three sets at Strahan Arena.

The opening set had every bit of tension you want from an opening weekend match. Louisiana came back from 19-12 and eventually tied it at 25, but the Bobcats took the final two points, then kept building. The result was a 27-25, 25-16, 25-20 sweep.

Texas State hit .310 with 39 kills and 10 blocks, and Brooke Bentke led with 12 kills while contributing to five blocks. It was a great Bobcat win that was a joy to photograph.

Volleypalooza is the place to be if you want to see elite preseason HS volleyball in Texas. There is a lot of high-level play, memories made, and preseason learning.

With the lessons learned and memories made, it is time to turn the corner. Moving forward, a season is on the line. Now it is time to lock-in and get things done.

I think Kelly Damphousse said it best, “We ran into a buzz saw…” However, the beautiful thing about volleyball is that every side out is its own mini game. Our Texas State Volleyball ladies provided some amazing moments. I’m excited to see them take the court again on Sunday. Eat ‘em up!
