On the bench today is a failure I don’t see often: the web gave way before the lace did. Some 1B mitts have the top portion of the web sewn into the glove, this one is laced into the perimeter. On a sewn in glove sometimes the web will pull out the stitching, but that’s not this.

No matter, we’ll get it back in play with a replacement web.

Warms my heart to see my son’s select org teaching these boys glove care early. This is the 8U/9U practice.

On the bench today is an early Rawlings sandlot series glove. This color is more saddle than the current burgundy both of which I like.
