KSC 2012-2013 Girls

The 2012-13 Girls took home gold medals this weekend as Champions of the U14 Girls Green Division of the Heartland Girls Invitational in Kansas City. The girls proved to be a resilient bunch, winning three games by a single goal, two come-from-behind wins - including trailing 2-0 at halftime of a group game and 1-0 at halftime of the Championship game. Congratulations girls - way to end the season in an outstanding fashion!

At the same time as the U14 girls championship game, were the 2014 girls (playing up a year) in the U13 Girls Yellow Championship game. Featuring at least 4 sisters of the 2012-13 girls, the younger KSC team lost a tough championship game, 2-1, but still did great in their first 11 v 11 competition. Great Job 2014 girls!

The 2012-13 White team finished league play today with a 6-0 win over the NE Roots 2012-2 team in Lincoln. With the win, the White team finished league play with a perfect 7-0-0 record to claim the NYSL U14 girls Division 3 Championship. Highlight of the game was a two minute flight of a beautiful Bald Eagle above the game field during the first half of play.

The 2012-13 girls had a very successful (and wet) weekend in LaVista at the Omaha Cup - claiming the championship of the U13/14 age division.

The girls went 4-0 on the weekend; the toughest game (and the game that ended up deciding the champion of the group) was the first game vs the Des Moines SC Red team. DMSC scored first in the first half, but we answered with 3 goals to go up 3-1 in the middle of the 2nd half. Unfortunately we gave up 2 goals in a 5 minute span late in the 2nd half, that allowed DMSC to tie the score, 3-3. With the game coming to an end, DMSC played a back pass to their keeper who held the ball a bit too long and we were able to pressure that into a turnover and a goal - with the last kick of the game.
