If you hadn't noticed, the pandemic/quarantine/COVID has caused trauma to everyone. I struggled with work, motherhood, isolation, and past traumas that were brought back to the surface. The single most important thing to do now is to be intentional about recovering.
🧘♀️🧘♀️🧘♀️
This morning and yesterday I made extra time for meditation, somatic exercises, and journaling. Now I feel like I'm glowing!
🧘♀️🧘♀️🧘♀️
Today I've also set aside time to see my therapist, because that's an essential part of healing and recovering, particularly where the really deep trauma came up.
🧘♀️🧘♀️🧘♀️
Tonight, I'll have my Transformational Embodiment Coaching class, and I'll learn more tools to weave into my days and to use in supporting my coaching clients.
🧘♀️🧘♀️🧘♀️
What are some of the tools and resources that are supporting you in recovering from the pandemic?

Monday through Friday this week I was on a beautiful family trip to the White Mountains here in New Hampshire. As hard as it was for me to do, I took the whole time off from classes and hustling (catching up on this missed classes today though).
🏞️🏞️🏞️
I made a few new rules for myself when I travel, these are non-negotiable, they aren't all that expensive, but they make me feel like a million dollars, and thus allow me to embody abundance!
🏞️🏞️🏞️
I'll share the whole list later, but one is to buy whatever souvenir I most desire! That meant in the gift shop at the Cog Railway, when I knew I wanted to get a shirt or hoodie, I looked around for my favorite, and bought that. I didn't beat myself up about the price, I didn't look for one that was good enough, I picked the cutest and the softest and I bought it! Now I wear it and I really do feel like a million bucks, because if I had a million bucks I would have bought the same one!
🏞️🏞️🏞️
Do you have any non-negotiable rules when you travel? What small things make you feel like a million dollars?

I'd love for all my teacher friends to get serious about taking a break this summer. I know for most or all this has been the most difficult year of teaching ever. I'm supporting my members through EFT (tapping), affirmations, journaling prompts, encouragement, and coaching.
The group is hosted on Facebook and it's free for teachers, so tag a teacher or DM me to join yourself. (I'll also be posting a link in my bio).

Gentle
🌿
Gentle
🌿
Gentle
🌿
You've come so far. This has been a long year, which came after a long year. Be gentle with yourself; your body and your soul.
🌿
Keep taking it day by day, keep showing up for the work you've committed to doing, but stay gentle.
🌿
This is a message I wrote to myself, try it on for size and take what fits, leave what doesn't.

My friend, I am on a beautiful path; you are clearly on a beautiful path too. It's an honor to be on the path with you!
💚💚💚
The way you spend your days is the way you spend your life; are you ready to shape your life to be full of joy, integrity, curiosity, freedom, connection, and thriving? Many of us reach our goals, only to look around and ask "why isn't this enough for me?" Can you relate? It's because we are following a path that was never designed to serve us!
💚💚💚
As the summer approaches, I'm inviting a handful of women to join me for three months of individual coaching. Consider this your warm invitation to explore what's possible.
💚💚💚
I would like to get together with you for coffee. 😉 I want to hear about your path, and support you in looking ahead towards everything that is possible. DM me and we'll schedule our girlfriends' coffee date (over Zoom), I offer this to you at no cost, and it comes with no obligations!

I'm resting on my porch with a hot cup of coffee, the birds signing, the smell of spring, and the thoughts floating around my mind.
🌊🌊🌊
Today feels perfect.
🌊🌊🌊
Today I'm going to take the kids to the beach and soak in the ocean air. I'll watch them run full speed across the sand trying to get the seagulls to give up.
🌊🌊🌊
When we get home from the beach I'll be gardening. I honestly couldn't ask for more perfect weather.
🌊🌊🌊
It can be hard to stop, especially so close to the end of the school year, as a teacher and a mother of young kids, but I've made this commitment to actually stop today and meet my own needs.
🌊🌊🌊
This is how I'll resource myself and my body in preparation for the week of work ahead and for the final stretch before our summer vacation.
🌊🌊🌊
What are you doing to stay well resourced? I'd love to hear about it in the comments.

It actually feels like spring!
💐💐💐
I spent a small part of my afternoon doing nothing, and it was glorious. This is a growth edge for me. I actually feel uncomfortable in my body when I have nothing to do, but that discomfort comes as a message that I need to learn the skill if slowing down and relaxing.
💐💐💐
So I did. I lay in my hammock, watched the clouds, and listened to the birds. Then Miss Fiona found me and we sat together for a few minutes. Since the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, she got frustrated that we weren't doing anything.
💐💐💐
And that became a clue that if I don't heal myself, she'll carry my wounding. So I'm more committed now than yesterday to slow down, listen to the birds, and watch the clouds.
💐💐💐
Do you struggle to slow down too? How have you worked through it? When is the last time that you did allow yourself to stop?
💐💐💐

Saturday morning on a date with me. Reading and journaling and following my heart's lead for an hour or so is absolutely heavenly.
☕☕☕
Have you taken yourself out recently?

I've begun journeying through The Artist's Way, I've finished week one and I'm entering week two. I've known about this book for years, and always wrote it off as not for me, because I am not an artist.
📚📚📚
I guess I was very wrong because a few pages in and the author has given me the permission I needed to believe that I am, and to explore what it really means. I'm loving every second of this book and I can't wait to see what unfolds for me through this twelve week journey.
📚📚📚
Are you an artist? What does that mean and how do you know?
📚📚📚
Follow me for updates as I take this journey and heal. 💙

I was born and raised in Michigan. I love the great lakes and living with four seasons.
After college, while pregnant with my son, I moved with my husband to New England - we really had a lot of reasons, but here are a few things I love about living here.
💙 Ocean Access - we live 1 hour from the beach, and it's heavenly to be able to take day trips throughout the summer.
💙 Mountains - I've always loved hiking, and here the trails are so varied and beautiful. Almost every weekend I go out for a hike with the kids, climbing mountains or through a marsh, the views here are amazing.
💙 Proximity to the city - another summer favorite in our family is to take day trips to Boston, enough said.
💙 And of course people around here are lovely! 😊
And what about you? Where are you from and where do you live? What do you love about your home?

I'm so tired tonight.
Maybe it's the new moon tomorrow.
Maybe it's just Wednesday.
🐪🐪🐪
Whatever it is, I'm taking it easy tonight.
Listen to your body.
Be well.
Peace.
