Strength. Legacy. Gratitude. 🙏🥋✨
Today we celebrate more than a birthday—we celebrate a vision that changed lives around the world.
School owners and instructors gathered with the Founder of Choi Kwang Do to honor his 84th birthday and the 39th anniversary of Choi Kwang Do. What began as one man’s dream has grown into a global family dedicated to health, character, discipline, and lifelong learning.
Standing together on this stage represents something powerful:
not just instructors… but guardians of a legacy. A legacy built on compassion, respect, and the belief that martial arts should make people stronger in body, sharper in mind, and kinder in spirit.
For nearly four decades, this art has transformed thousands of lives—students, families, and communities. And the journey continues with every class taught, every student encouraged, and every life inspired.
To our founder:
Your wisdom, courage, and dedication continue to guide generations of martial artists.
To the instructors and school owners:
You are the torchbearers of this vision.
39 years of Choi Kwang Do.
84 years of wisdom.
A lifetime of impact.
The best chapters are still being written. 🔥

On this historic 39th anniversary of Choi Kwang Do, we honor the vision and legacy of Sahjonim Kwang Jo Choi, whose life continues to inspire generations around the world.
To all instructors and students:
“Age is inevitable — but the decay of the body is optional.” For 39 years, Choi Kwang Do has stood not only as a martial art, but as a way of life — built on science, discipline, compassion, and the relentless pursuit of self-improvement. Grandmaster Choi has shown us that true strength is not measured by youth, but by consistency… not by power alone, but by wisdom… not by rank, but by character.
Instructors, you are the guardians of this legacy. Teach with patience. Lead with integrity. Train with purpose. Remember that every class is an opportunity to shape lives, build confidence, and inspire greatness.
Students, your journey is just as important. Whether you are a white belt or a black belt, progress is earned one disciplined day at a time. Stay humble. Trust the process. Your greatest opponent has always been yesterday’s version of yourself.
As we celebrate 39 years of Choi Kwang Do, let us recommit ourselves to excellence in body and mind. Let us train not just to move better — but to live better. Not just to defend ourselves — but to uplift others.
Today we honor the founder.
Tomorrow we continue the mission.

I want to take a moment to recognize the vital importance of our instructors all over the world and the profound role they play in the lives of their students.
Choi Kwang Do instructors are far more than teachers of techniques. They are mentors, role models, and leaders who shape character, confidence, and discipline. Every class they lead is an opportunity to inspire belief, instill values, and guide students toward becoming the best version of themselves—both on and off the dojahng.
Our instructors help students build physical strength, but just as importantly, they develop mental resilience, emotional control, respect, and integrity. Through their guidance, students learn perseverance in the face of challenge, humility in success, and courage in adversity. These lessons extend far beyond martial arts and positively impact families, schools, workplaces, and communities.
The commitment, patience, and passion of our instructors create a safe and empowering environment where students can grow at their own pace, set meaningful goals, and discover their true potential. Their influence often lasts a lifetime, leaving a lasting imprint on the hearts and minds of those they teach.
To all CKD instructors, thank you for your dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the art and philosophy of Choi Kwang Do. Your role is essential, your impact is powerful, and your contribution to transforming lives is truly invaluable.
