I celebrated Beltane by working my booth at the Conscious Living Expo ( ) this year, followed by a couple of days spent with the garden and nature around me.
The trees are fully awake, the rose bushes are starting to show off, and the wildflowers I scattered seeds for last year are now introducing themselves.
This is a time of beauty and of stopping to appreciate not only the growth all around you, but how that growth is echoed in your own spirit as well. To literally stop and smell the roses and consider the work that went into these blooms last year. Growth takes time and investment in progress you won’t see for a while.
This year’s Beltane was amazing, I can’t wait to see what next year brings!

If this winter felt very introspective and challenging, I highly recommend making yourself a sacred oil. Look into the flowers, herbs, and oils that represent your spirit and infuse them together mindfully. Use it to awaken yourself to the next season, inviting you to come back to a more active energy.
Decorate the jar it infuses in with imagery, runes, and sigils to represent your intention. Don’t think about what you are trying to attract, think about who the true you is and what you represent. Sit outside and ask nature to show you what you should include if needed (observing basic safety of course).
Make this an act of dedicated self awareness.

I am home with a cold, so it is time for some herbal medicine and healing rituals.
I don’t stop at just steeping my herbs. I find that talking to them, blessing them, and activating them to do what it is I need them to do works wonders.
And when I combine this with a healing meditation and some light-duty energy work on myself, the medicine is so much more potent.
I hope everyone is doing well and taking a little extra care of themselves right now

Who else has a fully stocked herbal cabinet but forgets to use it for themselves?
This last full moon and the days following have been a bit intense, and I often forget there are tools right in my own home that can help.
So today I’m enjoying some borage flower and lemon balm tea 🍃
This combination is light and delicious, but so very good for calming the body and spirit while providing gentle courage.
I grew these myself, pouring love and attention into them all summer and fall. Now, the steam of my tea feels like a little extra loving company, the love coming full circle in a really fulfilling way.
When I can’t garden or have a hard time getting out to nature, I love that a cup of tea with herbs from my garden can bring me right back to where I need to be. That is a part of animism and connecting with the energy of the herbs that I am always so grateful for.
Some herbs quickly become family 💚
Happy holidays!
I tend to celebrate Yule as a season stretching through December and into January. On either the night of the solstice or on Christmas Eve I like to light a candle to honor the light and for protection on the darkest nights.
This year I chose to make a candle using stuff from my garden, such as a mullein stalk and some other herbs I harvested.
When lighting things like this, it is like feeling the spirit of your home come to life.
If you still feel some winter holiday spirit, consider trying some new or old traditions to keep the magic going. Simmer pots, candle making, sitting by the fire, and spending time honoring loved ones are great ways to tend to your space through the season.
It is a time of mystery, stillness, gratitude, and reflection so it is the best time to get lost in something like a craft or a good book.
What has been a point of reflection for you lately?

Baking near or on a particular event (such as a new moon) is a great way to not only have some delicious food, but also to honor your home and the friendly energies that reside there.
Similar to the idea of a simmer pot, the aromas and correspondences of the ingredients fill your home and provide blessings and protections.
With baking, we have an opportunity for kitchen witchery and can eat those blessings!
I saved a slice of homemade apple bread and a small amount of homemade apple juice for an offering to the nisse (house spirit) and enjoyed a quiet evening with some loved ones.

I performed a self-initiation ritual last night to prepare myself for a spiritual journey I feel coming this winter, and felt that this rune message I pulled afterwards might be useful to some others as well.
The rune on the left is Raidho, a journey and the physical action it takes to go on one.
The other rune, Uruz, is of strength, primal creation, resistance, and nurturing. Uruz is associated with Auðumbla, an ancient cow that played a key role in creation in Norse mythology. Her story reminds me that creation is often birthed from periods of friction and struggle.
This winter is all about having the courage to look within and transform. Allow the stillness to shape you, and to connect you to the source energy you need to be the true you. It is a time of listening to the ice as you tread over it, being responsive to your environment by being one with it, and finding your spark of creation.
If you feel called to a similar internal journey, I recommend crafting a ritual for yourself to announce yourself open to the change and the messages you are meant to hear and the guidance you are meant to receive (especially if you have been burnt out or stagnant lately). Dig deep, and go back to basics mindfully.
Let the lessons of ice, wind, and the resilience of nature be your guide.
