Hello Parents,

FRESH will be having a Spirit Week coming soon. We cannot wait to see our students participate and have fun! See flyer for dress up days.

Do not forget that Sun Empire FRESH will be hosting a Family Paint Night for our 6th grade class this Monday, May 9th from 4:30-6:30 PM. It will be held in the cafeteria. Can’t wait to see all our 6th grade family there! 🤩

Today our students participated in a day full of fun activities, such as a Scavenger Hunt, Spring Celebration, and an Egg Hunt. Here are some pictures. We are so grateful for our amazing FRESH parents who donated eggs and candy for our Egg Hunt because without them this would not have been possible! 🐣🎊

On Wednesday April 6th we will be having Reptile Ron coming to our program to teach the students about animals around the world. We ask for parents to allow their children to stay in order to participate. The event will be for all of FRESH, however we will be having 2 separate shows for each grade. Hello SEE Fam!

We will be having a live stream Christmas Concert this Friday, December 10th of each class singing a Christmas Song. It will start at 4 PM and end at 4:40 PM. If you cannot join, do not worry we will have the videos uploaded once we finish.

The sixth grade will be going on a field trip this day, so we will be pre-recording their class the day before on Thursday, December 9th, and have their class video uploaded along with the rest of FRESH. (:

Today was my official last day at FRESH. It was emotional to say the least. I have been at Sun Empire for 10 years; 3 years as a tutor and 7 as the coordinator. It has truly been an honor to see the students grow, learn, and become the amazing people they are today. It’s been a pleasure working with the teachers, administrators, custodians, and parents. I will forever cherish the memories I’ve made and appreciate everyone’s support throughout the years. I wish this program the very best and look forward to this new chapter.

Last week, we wrapped up our KESA Summer Program!☀️ Here is the photo album with all the memories we managed to capture throughout our program. We had such a great time being with the students this summer. Each student was able to participate in various enrichment activities, water days, and other fun events.

We want to thank our Sun Empire staff, teachers, KUSD admin, and custodians for working with us this summer. Each person contributed to making our summer program successful. Shout out to our KESA tutors for their hard work as well!

Thank you to all of our awesome students who participated in our program! We hope everyone enjoys the rest of their break. See you in August!

Our KESA Summer Program was filled with great activities this week! Students were able to enjoy a reptile presentation where they were able to learn interesting facts about each reptile they were shown. Some brave students held a large snake! 4-6 grade students participated in water activities facilitated by FCSS’s Safe and Healthy Kids Wellness and Nutrition Department where they were able to incorporate healthy eating. We look forward to our remaining activities and finishing off these next two weeks strong🦁

Friday was our tutor, Cristina’s, last day of working for the FRESH program. She has done such a great job and has made an impact on her students- especially Kindergartners! She will be missed and we wish her well on her next chapter. 🦁💐

Friday was our tutor Aaliyah’s last day working for our FRESH Program. Aaliyah has done a great job during her time at Sun Empire and made a great impact on her students. We are happy for her accomplishment and wish her all the best on her next chapter.

Our last material bag pick ups of the school year will be happening this week on Thursday and Friday. Come by the FRESH office to get your bags. Students will be getting supplies for our virtual activities that will be happening all throughout May.

We had a great time today with Pixie from The Artist in Me! Students in grades K-6th were able to use the force and paint a portrait of Yoda👩‍🎨👨‍🎨 We’re looking forward to having another paint party soon🎨

Material bags are ready for pick up! You can come by the FRESH office from 1:30 pm-4:00 pm Wednesday-Friday of this week.

Also, don't forget about our virtual paint party happening on Monday March 8th! Students will create a Yoda portrait through the guidance of Pixie from the Artist in Me! Open for students in grades K-6. Registrations can be found in our FRESH Google Classrooms.

Miss Ivon has been working with us for the last two and a half years and will be leaving FRESH to pursue a new opportunity. She always had a passion for her students and was a great staff member to our program. She will be missed, but we wish her all the best on her next venture🎉

Happening this month!

Starting this week, virtual activities will now be every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 1:00 pm-1:30 pm. Supplies pick up for the month of March will be this week on Wednesday and Thursday from 1:30 pm-4:00 pm. Students will not need any supplies for this week's virtual activities.

FRESH will be having a virtual paint party hosted by Pixie from The Artist in Me on Monday March 8th from 2:00 pm-4:00 pm for grades K-6th! Please assist your child by completing the Google Form posted in our "Fresh K-3 Activities" and "FRESH 4-6 Activities" Google Classroom. If a student is not selected, they will be placed in the paint party for April. Students who are selected will be added to our "Paint Party" on Google Classroom. Parents of students who are selected will be notified and must pick up painting supplies by Friday of this week.

We still offer homework help for students in grades 4th-6th. Homework help sessions are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 pm-1:30 pm.

Ms. Jo will transfer to Goldenrod Elementary to take on the Assistant Lead position for their after school program. She is going to be missed as she made a great impact in our program and students. Hello parents! Tomorrow and Thursday, we will be handing out materials for students to use during our activity sessions throughout February from 1:30 pm-4:00 pm. Even if students are in PM sessions, you may still come grab materials for students to use during our Monday sessions. Our activity days will be February 5, 12, 19, 22, and 26. There was a mistake on the date that was written on the flyer that was attached to K-3 materials bag. Our first meeting date for activities will actually be next Friday on the 22nd from 2:00 pm-2:30 pm. After that date, we will do virtual activities with students on Monday the 25th and Friday the 29th. If you have any questions or trouble with our Google Classroom, please send us a message. You may also contact the FRESH office at (559)843-9226 Tuesday-Friday between 10:00 AM-3:00 PM.

Hello Sun Empire community!

For the month of January, our new virtual enrichment days will be Mondays and Fridays. We will meet with students on Mondays from 1:30 pm-2:30 pm and Fridays from 2:00 pm-2:30 pm.

We will be holding a materials pick up tomorrow afternoon from 1:30 pm-3:00 pm with all the supplies students will need for our activities this month. Please refer to the flyer for more details.

Since next Monday is a Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, our first enrichment day will be Friday the 22nd of January.

We had a Spooktacular Fun Friday today! The students had a chance to watch a Halloween movie, participate in a craft, and hear fun Halloween stories. We also had a student costume contest! We hope you all have a great and safe Halloween🎃

Our Virtual Expanded Learning Program is going well. Here are some finished art work pieces from our students Alex, Camila, and Jonathan. They were able to do this activity during one of our virtual enrichment sessions. Great job!
