🎯 DR. DARTBALL’S WEEK 1 PRESCRIPTION
September 10, 2026 | Kewaunee Dartball League
The waiting is over. The preseason rankings have been published, the predictions have been made, rosters have been shuffled, and Dr. Dartball has officially created enough material that can now be used against him.
Thursday night, the darts finally start counting.
Week 1 gives us a little bit of everything: the defending champions begin their title defense, Waterfront makes its league debut, Hout’s 2 gets its first chance to show off the rebuilt roster, and Hout’s and KC’s give us an immediate matchup loaded with proven shooters.
Five matches. Zero excuses. The Doctor is in.
🍺 OUTBACK @ SLOVAN
Handicap: EVEN
A good old-fashioned Week 1 bar fight.
Outback brings a deep veteran lineup featuring Adam Kolmorgan, who enters the season as one of Dr. Dartball’s breakout candidates after hitting .423 last year, along with Brandon Kassner and Jeremy “Squirm” Schaller.
Slovan counters with the steady Kinjerski combination of Greg and Pat, and an experienced roster that Dr. Dartball has repeatedly warned people not to overlook.
Dr. Dartball says: No handicap. No head start. Just show up and start throwing.
🏆 MOE’S CORNER @ UPTOWN TAVERN 2
Handicap: Uptown Tavern 2 - +3 (score 4)
The champs are back.
Moe’s begins its title defense carrying an absolutely ridiculous top end featuring preseason #2 Jody Annoye, #3 Travis Annoye, #4 Scott Kuehl and #11 Ty Guilette.
Uptown 2 spent the end of last season fighting to get itself out of the basement, but there are reasons for optimism. Jason Bertrand jumped from .314 to .372, while Mike Wavrunek handled a massive workload last season.
The handicap gives Uptown 2 some help. They'll probably need it.
Dr. Dartball says: Nothing says “welcome back” quite like getting three runs and still having to stare across the room at Moe’s.
🎯 HOUT’S @ KC’S
Handicap: KC's - +2 (Score 5)
Dr. Dartball’s Matchup of the Week.
Hout’s arrives loaded with Schallers — Jason, Peyton and Logan all landed inside the preseason Top 10 — and Ryan Chervenka enters as one of the league's biggest rising shooters.
KC’s still has Joe Swagel, Dr. Dartball’s reigning Triple Therapy recipient after piling up an absurd 193 triples over the past two seasons.
But this is also our first look at KC’s after the departures of Emilio Castro and Nick Saxby to Waterfront, making this a fascinating early test of the new-look roster.
Dr. Dartball says: Hout’s has the names. KC’s has the Swagels. Somebody please identify which one before Thursday.
🌊 JW’S PLACE @ WATERFRONT
Handicap: EVEN
Perhaps the most intriguing game on the board.
JW’s brings experience everywhere, led by Dr. Dartball’s preseason #1 shooter Duane Kinjerski, along with #6 Troy Hrabik and State Hall of Famer Dave “Spudsy” Doden.
Across the room will be the league's newest team — although “expansion team” remains a questionable description.
Waterfront has assembled Tony Gauthier, Emilio Castro and Nick Saxby, all three of whom landed inside Dr. Dartball’s preseason Top 22. Castro leaves KC’s to help launch the new squad, and now we finally get to see what Waterfront actually looks like when the darts count.
And Vegas — or whoever the hell is setting Kewaunee County dartball lines — calls it even.
Dr. Dartball says: Waterfront wanted to know if they belonged. Drawing JW’s with no handicap in Week 1 should answer that question quickly.
🚜 UPTOWN TAVERN @ HOUT’S 2
Handicap: Hout's 2 - +1 (Score 2)
Two teams with plenty to prove.
Hout’s 2 was one of the busiest teams of the offseason, adding former Janda’s shooters Trevor Pribek, Gavin Shaffer, Conner Parkman and Dylan Saxby to a roster that already had some pieces.
Trevor is the headliner after hitting .377 with 47 triples last season.
Uptown brings Caleb Schaller, Dr. Dartball’s #12 preseason shooter after consecutive .400 seasons, while the final destination of sausage specialist Chippy Schleis has been one of the offseason's great mysteries.
Only one run separates these teams on the handicap.
Dr. Dartball says: Hout’s 2 spent the offseason buying groceries. Thursday night we find out whether anybody knows how to cook.
🥼 DR. DARTBALL’S WEEK 1 PRESCRIPTION
There may not be a better opening-night measuring stick than JW’s/Waterfront and Hout’s/KC’s. We should learn something immediately about the new Waterfront roster, while KC’s gets its first test after losing two major pieces.
Meanwhile, everybody will be watching the defending champions. Moe’s has the belt until somebody takes it away.
The preseason is officially over.
The rankings don't matter anymore.
Throw the darts. Count the runs. Start the arguments.
🎯 Welcome to Week 1.
