🏈 Kingman Youth Football League Update 🏈
At KYFL, our #1 priority is the safety and growth of our players. We want to take a moment to share a few important reminders to help ensure a positive, fun, and safe season for everyone!
Safety & Fundamental Growth First 🛡️
We are a developmental league focused on teaching the fundamentals of the game.
Because learning comes first, our referees will sometimes educate a player 1–2 times on the field before throwing an official flag or making a penalty call.
Unless it is something like a Horse Collar or Face Mask. Those calls will always be called for safety reasons.
Some calls may be missed, however this is why it is important to have coaches respectfully challenge or advocate for a call.
Coaches who yell or scream at the referees will be ejected by the refs and will automatically be suspended 1 game, this is a referee rule, and a by law.
Privacy & League Discipline 🔒
If the Board ever needs to address misconduct or concerns with a coach, player, or referee, those conversations are handled strictly in private.
To respect everyone's privacy, disciplinary matters are kept between the Board and the involved individual or family—they are not shared with other coaches or parents.
Addressing Size Differences (8U–12U) 📏
Because our teams span ages 8–12, size variation is a natural part of youth football.
Teams with mostly returning players will naturally lean older (10–12 years old) and may be noticeably larger.
If you ever have safety concerns regarding size differences, please reach out directly to Nicole or Brendan on the Board so we can work together on a solution.
Board Oversight & Accountability 📋
The Board is always present at games and actively monitoring the field. We follow our bylaws closely and expect all coaches to do the same.
Any coach who violates a bylaw—including pushing unsportsmanlike behavior or intentionally putting players at risk—will receive a low scorecard evaluation and may not be invited back to coach in future seasons.
Thank you for being part of our KYFL family and helping us keep the game safe, fair, and fun for all of our young athletes! Let's have a great season! 🎉
