Well that's a wrap on our Tribe 8u Gray season. While we didn't get to finish the USSSA Tennessee World Series due to the weather, we couldn't have had a better finish to our season yesterday. We played an always tough Cyclones team to start the day and our bats were on fire scoring 20 runs. We then played the #1 seed Tri-Stars and our defense was some of the best we've seen all year. This short video shows the last out in the game to win the game 6-5. We've been saying it all week to our boys - it's not how you start, it's how you finish!

We are so proud of this team to fight the way they did all year. This was a new team that hadn't played together before with the majority having no travel ball experience. The way they grew and developed over the past year was amazing to watch. We are thankful for each kid that played on this team and their families for entrusting them to our coaches.

If you want to be part of the Tribe 9u Gray team coming this Fall, tryouts are on July 15 at 6:00 pm at the Tribe Athletic Complex!

It’s been an amazing season and we have one final tournament for our current 8u team - the USSSA Tennessee World Series. We have two games scheduled on Friday for pool play and then the double elimination tournament begins on Saturday. We would love to see you out there this weekend cheering on the team!

This week’s Player Highlight is focused on Isaiah Leedy.

Isaiah plays shortstop and has been crushing it all year. He fields the ball amazingly well and has recorded some amazing catches and double plays. He also leads the team in hitting percentage showing his ability to get on base. He’s a leader on the team and helps push his teammates to succeed.

This week’s Player Highlight is focused on Tate Shortridge.

Tate plays catcher and CF showing his unbelievable flexibility for two tough positions. He’s a great extra base hitter leading the team in both doubles and triples on the year! While he gets called Tater or Tater Tot often, I like to call him another food in Smashburger the way he smashes the ball. What he does on the field is impressive, but even more impressive is the great teammate and friend he is to all of the other players.

Keep smashing the ball, Tate!

Our boys had an awesome day in pool play and will be the #1 seed in the gold bracket tomorrow. The job is not finished though and we have to keep the momentum going for the USSSA Tennessee State Championship Tournament. Run, don’t walk to see the boys play!
