The 2026 season ended today with a loss in the state tournament. We are so proud of the resiliency of these girls. What they accomplished this season still hasn't fully sunk in. Through ups and downs and everything in between they became a family and turned from just a group of kids into to a team, creating so many memories. Making the final 8 and winning a Championship, having multiple girls in the top 5 of the state statistically in different categories, the JV defense giving up 0 points, and dozens of new friendships. Scoring 190 points in a 4 game stretch. A last second win against a rival in the semifinals. A championship comeback. Coaching them was an honor and we could not be more proud. On day 1 in February we showed the first slide of our playbook, a picture of Maple Street Biscuit Company in Murfreesboro where we promised we'd eat pregame meal before playing Ravenwood in the state tournament. This morning that vision was realized. Thank you girls for your effort and commitment to one another. We love you!

GO DAWGS!!

Finally, . Alaya was a unanimous selection by the opposing coaches in the region because of her impact on every single game. Alaya finished 4th in the state in sacks and 2nd in flag pulls for loss. She constantly wrecked opposing offenses forcing them to leave in extra receivers to block her. She started the season strong and got better and better every week, culminating in 5 sacks in the region championship game.
Alaya also had a 99.1% snap success rate and 34 receptions for 287 yards and 2 TDs, including a game winner. Alaya was our quiet captain who led by example all year long.
We're so proud of her!

Next up is Stella Cross! Stella was the foundation of one of the best defenses in the state, finishing the season giving up just 8 points a game. Stella had 102 flag pulls, 2nd in the state, and constantly set the wall of the defense. It was so fun too watch her develop into one of the best defenders in Tennessee. If we needed a 3rd down stop, we looked to .crossss . She was responsible for slowing down some very talented offensive players in our region and she always came through. We're so proud of her!

Our next All Region recipient is .cr who led the team in total offense and was top 15 in the state despite missing 4 games. Amileigh was the safety blanket for our QBs in pressure situations, always getting open and making tough plays. In addition to being a standout WR, she added 20 flag pulls on defense and a pick 6 in the final moments of the Farragut game. She grew in her leadership role this season and became someone future varsity players can model themselves after.
We are so proud of her!

Our next honoree is . Sophie attacked a sport she'd never tried before with the same intensity that she attacks everything with and quickly grasped how to play Quarterback. In just 8 games she went undefeated, had over 1500 total yards and 33 TDs, even scoring on special teams. She was on pace to lead the state in passing TDs and total yardage before her injury. She was always encouraging, guiding and leading, even after her injury. A leader and friend to every person on the team, Sophie has helped lay the foundation of something special at Bearden.
We are so proud of her!

Next up in our post season awards is Region 1-AA Offensive MVP Emma Rainey!
rainey was an outstanding leader for our team and changed several games with her big play ability. She scored multiple touchdowns on offense, defense and special teams. She finished 3rd in the state in total points scored. She scored two game winning TDs in the final 2 minutes of key games.
Very few people have the competitive character of Emma Rainey, and it spread through our whole team throughout the season. We are so proud of her!

It's time to highlight our post season honorees. First up is the Region 1-AA Freshman of the Year . Nicole took over as the starter on the 4th play of the biggest game of the season. On her first play she ripped a corner route 30 yards and she never looked back. She was 8-0 as a starter and if her passing yards were extrapolated over a full season she would have finished 3rd in the state. She grew up and displayed some amazing grit throughout the season, especially in the region championship game. We are so proud of her!
