✨ Featured Friday: Selenite ✨
If you've ever had a Reiki session with me, there's a good chance you've encountered Selenite. 🤍
Selenite is a huge part of Earth Prana Wellness—used during my Reiki practice and in the creation of each Reiki-infused healing bracelet I make. I use it in so many different ways that I thought it deserved a Featured Friday of its own!
🤍 A Little About Selenite 🤍
What is commonly called Selenite in the crystal world is often actually Satin Spar, a fibrous form of the mineral gypsum. True selenite is generally clear or translucent and has a different crystalline structure, while Satin Spar has the beautiful silky, fibrous appearance you see in my photo.
Although they look different, true selenite and Satin Spar are traditionally associated with many of the same energetic properties. In crystal and energy-healing traditions, they are commonly associated with cleansing, purification, clarity, peace, protection, and energetic balance. They are also traditionally believed to help clear stagnant or unwanted energy and support or amplify the energy of other crystals.
🌿 How I Use Selenite at Earth Prana Wellness:
✨ Every Reiki-infused healing bracelet I create is energetically cleansed on a selenite tower before I add it to my inventory.
✨ On a personal level, when I'm not wearing my own healing bracelets, I store them on a selenite tower to cleanse them daily, and I highly recommend you do the same. 😉
✨ Selenite is always present in my Reiki service room, remaining part of the energetic environment during every session.
✨ During a new client's first Reiki session, I place a small piece of selenite over their heart and leave it there for the duration of the session, with the intention of supporting the clearing and balancing of their energy centers. At the end of their first session, I give them that piece of selenite to take home with them. 🤍
I often recommend carrying their selenite with them as part of their personal energetic practice and as a reminder of their intention for balance and protection. Another option is to place it under their pillow or near their bed as part of a peaceful nighttime ritual, with the intention of encouraging calm, restful energy and peaceful dreams. ✨
For me, selenite has become much more than just another crystal. It has become a part of the foundation of my Reiki practice and of Earth Prana Wellness. 🌿
There's just something about that soft, luminous white energy that feels especially appropriate for Reiki. ✨
🤍 A Little Selenite Care Tip 🤍
Satin Spar is a very soft form of gypsum—about a 2 on the Mohs hardness scale—so it can scratch and break fairly easily. It is also sensitive to water, so keep your selenite (as well as any healing bracelets that have selenite beads in them) dry and avoid soaking or rinsing with water!
