Things may not always go as planned.

We can sit around in self-pity or we can work even harder.

I choose to work! Nothing good comes easy and the grind never stops.

2 Chronicles 15:7. “But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.”

Another day and another opportunity to improve!
3 weeks out from a Korn Ferry Q in Colorado.

Always be mindful of your swing!!

I feared of being too analytical and never really breaking down the swing this year. I thought “I’m hitting it good, I just need to make some putts”.

Swing on the right is my practice round in Dallas last week. Swing on the left is after some adjustments this week.

The Dallas swing is not built for competitive golf. Sure you can swing like that and shoot some low numbers at your home course or the local muni but it will not hold up in pressure situations. It is just too much going on in that swing.

Swing on the left is much more technical. Not perfect, but it can hold up in pressure situations.

Now we just have to keep our nose on the grindstone and keep improving.
I made some big adjustments on how I go about my practice day to day. More of scheduled practice sessions to keep me locked in and hold myself accountable!

Onward!

We did not get the job done in Texas. Battling some swing issues but the putter is heating up!
Time to get back on range and prep for Colorado in a few weeks.

Work! Work! Work!

I get asked often what do my practice sessions look like. Do I focus on driver? Do I hit a lot of 7 irons? How many balls do i hit?

The amount of balls I hit each day vary. (I still have a full time job)
But however many I hit, I make sure that 70% of the golf balls hit are wedges!!!

Drivers are fun to smash out there but it is rare if I hit more than 10 drivers in a session unless I’m really struggling.

Focus on your wedge game and putting. Only then will you see a dramatic shift in your scores!

*got this wedge a couple of months ago and its wearing down pretty good already*
