The 2025 season came to an end yesterday for our 13U Cardinal team with another championship - this time in the GMB. They finish the year with a 39-15 record, four championships, and 3 runner-up finishes.
This team came together in the fall of 2024 as 12 players with love for the game who wanted to learn and play at a high level. 47 practices and 54 games later they’ve exceeded all expectations. It didn’t come easy. The bar was set high.
From the baseball IQ test, to understanding situational baseball, pre pitch preparations, pick plays, offensive executions, there wasn’t anything these boys weren’t willing to learn. They were taught next level baseball and held accountable. They embraced it, they grinded, they built a winning culture.
The winning record, the multiple championships, the accolades, those are the easy things to point out. But what stands out with this group goes beyond the baseball diamond. Their work ethic, eagerness to learn, camaraderie, support for one another, and holding each other accountable is what separates them from others their age. They are fine young men with bright futures.
It was a heck of a fun season for everyone involved. These future Mavericks embodied everything you want in a high school feeder team. We can’t wait to watch them continue to shine in the years to come.
