Please let us not overgeneralize while this is an unspeakable tragedy. I’ve been cycle commuting for three years reliably the vehicles that give me the whole lane take the shoulder oncoming and don’t pass me on top of the hill are 1 ton work trucks with welding, rigs fuel tank tanks and ladder racks. In exchange I’m well lit. I’m on the shoulder and I thank them with a wave. (and, a beutiful manifestation of human nature, the trucks that give me a half-lane...I wave and thank 'em, next time, they give me the whole lane)
