Word on the street is that one of the all-time great Perky League managers, Jeff Murtha, might be thinking about walking into the cornfield after the 2026 season. (Like retiring, not dying - although he does get pretty wild if you've hung out with him)

Let’s be clear, we’re hoping the rumor got "crossed up in the signs.” But if the rumors are true, it’s only fitting to tip our cap to a guy who’s been instrumental in the success of multiple teams and has spent countless hours behind the scenes keeping league policies, schedules, and everything in between running smoothly.

Jeff’s impact goes far beyond the dugout, though we’re pretty sure he still has a few mound and rule clarifications visits left in him (and hopefully one more trophy hoist).

Second dugout is in for 2026. Is it May yet?

He’s back for one final ride! He tried to hang them up so we had to hunt him down in the Philly airport, but a deals a deal! Pete Moore - legend back for 2026!

This morning, we lost a Perky League legend.

Gmom Burns was the true heart and spirit of the league. She devoted countless hours to the Perky League and her Valley Forge guys, always showing up, always giving her all. On most nights, and especially during Finals Week, you’d find Gmom right behind the backstop keeping score, confirming lineup changes, and making sure everything ran smoothly.

She was as tough as they come, never afraid to put you in line. But she was also someone you could laugh with and count on. In Board meetings filled with men, Gmom’s voice carried authority and respect. She took charge because she cared deeply about the league and everyone in it.

Even through some of her toughest days, she stayed involved. At games, in meetings, or apologizing if she couldn’t make it. That was Gmom, selfless, loyal, and dedicated beyond measure.

She loved the game. She loved the players. She loved the league. And we loved her. ❤️

Wrapping up the season, we partied like it was 1999 down in Tuckerton. What a team, what a year. Thanks to everyone for the support throughout the season. We are coming back to put that fifth ring on the tiger! Special thanks to Jeff Murtha for his commitment and hosting the celebration bash. The 2026 campaign is 238 days away…

Tigers score three touchdowns and win 21-3. Too much to list, but we won. Game 3 tomorrow night 7pm at Lansdale.
