We often think hearing from God has to be dramatic.
A lightning bolt.
A perfectly timed miracle.
A crystal-clear answer.
Sometimes He works that way.
But more often, the Holy Spirit speaks gently—through the ordinary moments of our day.
A verse that lingers in your heart.
A conversation that brings unexpected clarity.
A nudge to reach out to someone.
A sense of peace you can't explain.
I like to call these "Holy Spirit sparkles." Little reminders that God is near, present, and inviting us deeper into relationship with Him.
The more we slow down and pay attention, the more we begin to recognize the unique ways the Holy Spirit speaks to each of us.
Today, don't look past the ordinary while waiting for the extraordinary.
God may already be speaking.
Have you noticed any "Holy Spirit sparkles" lately? I'd love to hear about one in the comments.

We often wear exhaustion like it's proof that we're doing enough.
But God never asked us to earn His love through burnout.
Rest isn't the reward after you've done everything perfectly. It's part of the rhythm He created from the very beginning.
As summer begins to wind down and calendars start filling up again, don't wait until you're completely depleted before you pause.
Your family doesn't need the busiest version of you.
Your friends don't need the most productive version of you.
Your clients don't need the exhausted version of you.
They need the version of you that is rooted in Christ.
When you allow God to refill your heart, everyone around you benefits.
That's why healthy self-care isn't selfish—it becomes an act of love. We simply cannot give what we don't have.
Where is God inviting you to slow down before this next season begins?
I'd love to hear in the comments.
Save this for the days you start believing that your worth is measured by your productivity, and share it with someone who needs permission to rest.

The older I get, the more I realize that God's voice usually isn't the loudest one competing for my attention.
There are deadlines, notifications, responsibilities, opinions, and the running commentary in my own head.
There are constant interruptions, notifications, phone calls. It's no wonder it's hard to recognize His voice sometimes.
St. Dominic reminds us that before we can share the Truth, we have to spend time with the One who is Truth.
That doesn't mean we need a perfectly quiet house or an uninterrupted Holy Hour every day. (Although those are beautiful gifts when they happen!)
It means intentionally making room for Him in the middle of ordinary life.
Maybe today that's five quiet minutes before everyone else wakes up.
Maybe it's opening your Bible before opening social media.
Maybe it's simply pausing long enough to ask, "Lord, what are You inviting me to today?"
God is still speaking.
The question is: are we creating enough space to listen?
✨ What's one way you quiet the noise and make room for God? I'd love to hear in the comments.

There's something about the end of summer that makes me want to pause before rushing into what's next.
Not to become a "better" version of myself by September — but because I don't want to move into a new season without noticing what God has already been doing.
It's so easy to jump straight into school schedules, fall routines, and packed calendars without asking: "Lord, what have You been teaching me?"
Growth doesn't only happen in the big milestones. More often it happens in the quiet ways we learn to trust Him a little more, surrender a little sooner, and notice His presence in the middle of ordinary life.
Before the calendar fills up again — give yourself permission to pause. You might be surprised by what God has been growing in you all along. 💛
👇 Which question are you taking into prayer this week? I'd love to hear in the comments.
💾 Save this for the last week of summer.
Have you ever caught yourself thinking...
"I'll pray when I feel more focused."
"I'll spend time with God when life settles down."
"I'll come back when I can do it better."
I've been there too.
But that's not the invitation God gives us.
He doesn't wait for us to have it all together before drawing close. He meets us in the middle of the questions, the distractions, the dry seasons, and even the desire to want Him more.
If you're feeling spiritually stuck, don't let that become the reason you stay away.
Invite Jesus into the stuck.
Tell Him what's on your heart—even if all you can say is, "Lord, I miss You," or "Help me want You more."
That's a beautiful prayer.
Because every step toward Him, no matter how small, is met with His love and His grace.
Where is God inviting you to let Him meet you today?
I'd love to pray for you. Share one word in the comments, or simply leave a  if you'd rather keep it between you and the Lord.
Save this for the days you need the reminder.
Share it with someone who needs to know they don't have to have it all together before coming to God.

Perfectionism doesn't always show up as impossible standards and color-coded planners.
Sometimes it shows up in our prayer life.
We convince ourselves:
If we don't have enough time — we shouldn't pray at all.
If we're distracted — God must be disappointed.
If we don't feel holy enough — we'll try again tomorrow.
But that's not how God loves.
St. Alphonsus Liguori taught that prayer is essential — not because God needs perfect words, but because we need relationship with Him. The enemy would love for us to believe that imperfect prayer isn't worth offering.
God simply says: "Come anyway."
The most beautiful prayers are often the simplest:
"Jesus, I'm here."
"Help me."
"I trust You."
Don't let perfectionism become another obstacle between you and the God who is already pursuing your heart. 🤍

Summer has a way of exposing what we've been carrying all year.
If you're feeling unmotivated, weary, or like you've lost your drive — don't rush to label yourself lazy.
Get curious instead.
Have you been pouring into everyone else without letting yourself be filled? Saying yes to everything except time with the Lord?
Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is pause long enough to receive the grace God is already offering.
Not because you're giving up — but because you're remembering that your strength doesn't come from striving.
It comes from abiding. 💛
Before you add one more thing to your list today, ask:
"Jesus, what do You want me to receive from You today?"
His answer may be exactly what your heart has been longing for. 🤍
💾 Save this for the days you mistake depletion for failure. And share it with a friend who might need the reminder.
One of the questions I've been asked most since beginning my Spiritual Direction formation is:
"What's the difference between spiritual direction and coaching?"
Here's the simplest way I can explain it:
🤍 Spiritual Direction creates space to prayerfully notice God's presence, listen for His voice, and discern His invitations in your life.
🌿 Coaching helps you intentionally respond to those invitations by identifying what's keeping you stuck, renewing your mindset, and taking faithful action.
One isn't "better" than the other.
They simply have different purposes.
Sometimes you need a quiet space to listen.
Sometimes you need a plan to move forward.
And sometimes, God invites you into both.
I've experienced firsthand how powerful it can be to pair deep spiritual listening with intentional action. When we learn to notice God's movement and faithfully cooperate with His grace, we begin living with greater peace, clarity, and freedom.
✨ Which one have you experienced before—spiritual direction, coaching, or both? I'd love to hear in the comments!

One of the things I love most about St. Mary Magdalene is that Scripture never lets her past have the final word.
After encountering Jesus, she stayed close to Him. She remained at the Cross when so many had left. She came to the tomb before sunrise. And she became the first person to witness the Resurrection.
That's the part of her story I keep coming back to.
Sometimes we believe our past is the loudest thing about us. But God has a different way of telling our stories.
His mercy doesn't erase what's been. It meets us there—and begins something new.
If you've ever wondered whether God could still use you, take heart.
He isn't waiting for you to have a perfect story.
He's inviting you to keep walking with Him, one faithful step at a time.
Where have you seen God's mercy meet you in your own story? I'd love to hear in the comments. 🤍
And if you'd like to spend more time with St. Mary Magdalene, I highly recommend Becoming Magdalene by a dear friend of mine. It's a beautiful companion for anyone longing to know the healing love of Christ more deeply.
One of the biggest mindset shifts I help clients make is this:
Your strengths are gifts to steward—not standards to compare.
We live in a world that celebrates becoming more like everyone else.
God invites us to become more fully ourselves.
That doesn't mean we avoid growth or refuse to learn new skills.
It means we stop believing our worth depends on having someone else's gifts.
Your vocation doesn't require every strength.
It requires faithfulness.
When you embrace the way God uniquely designed you, you stop wasting energy trying to prove yourself and start using your gifts to serve with greater joy, peace, and purpose.
So today, ask yourself:
Am I developing the gifts God gave me... or am I chasing someone else's?
