September is National Yoga Month, and it also happens to be the month I became a mom for the first time... almost 7 years ago now. 😭💙 So it felt like a good time to reintroduce myself and share a little about me and the heart behind this studio!
Hi, I’m Christie! 👋 I’m a mom to two boys, almost 7 and 4½, and I’ve been teaching yoga since 2014.
Over the years, my practice has grown right alongside me. I’ve trained in children’s yoga, prenatal and postnatal yoga, babies and toddlers, and more. I’m also a Certified Birth Doula and 4th Trimester Fitness Method® Instructor, teaching Prep4Birth and Postpartum Recovery.
And somewhere along the way, Divine Child Yoga grew into this little space where I get to bring so many of the things I love together. 🫶
We truly offer yoga, movement, and mindfulness for all ages and stages, from adult yoga to kid's classes and even gymnastics. But one of the things that makes the studio especially unique is the support we offer through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and those early years of motherhood.
Because becoming a mom changes a lot. Your body changes. Your routines change. The amount of time you have for yourself changes. And sometimes the movement or exercise you did before pregnancy doesn’t feel like what you need anymore!
You can come to prenatal Yoga or Pilates and learn how to move with your changing body. You can prepare for birth with practical tools and hands-on practice. You can bring your baby to Postpartum Recovery while you reconnect with your body and rebuild strength. And eventually, you might find yourself on a yoga mat with your toddler climbing all over you. 😂💙
And as motherhood changes, kids grow, and maybe even grandbabies come along, there’s still a place here for movement that’s simply for YOU.🫶
Seven years into motherhood and more than a decade into teaching yoga, I’m incredibly grateful that this is what I get to do: support people through so many different seasons of life with movement, education, connection, and community. Thank you for being here!
