Siberian Rendezvous

*** Fun run has been CANCELLED ***

Apologies for the late notice, but due to the high temperatures forecasted for this weekend along with poor trail conditions, we are also cancelling the fun run for safety reasons.

The state trail groomers typically make a pass Thursday night, but their reports show they have not gone through the area where we would be running. This along with other reports of conditions and temps have us concerned there isn't enough snow to safely have our fun run.

Again thank you all for the support and interest! Let's hope next season brings us better conditions!

Ok - the update everyone has been waiting for!

Sadly it's not great news.

Between the higher than normal temps, the ridiculous winds, and the minimal snowfall, the trails are not holding up as we hoped. We have decided to cancel the race and hold a fun run instead. There's still snow even if it's not perfect, and the main trail is still being groomed.

If you want to come out for a last hurrah this sad winter season, there will be no entry fee to run. A donation to the club is welcome. We will be there to host, mark the trail, and help if needed. (Passing practice anyone??)

Those who have already entered will be refunded.

Thank you all for your interest this year ❤️ Let's hope we get some better conditions next season 🙂

March 21-22 2026 will be our new race date! The forest service is working with us to update our permit, and it looks like that weekend will be best.

!! IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT !! 📣

Due to snow conditions, the decision has been made to postpone the Siberian Rendezvous. The most recent trail update had some thin snow and bare spots out there, and we would rather not risk an unsafe trail.

New dates are pending approval by the forest service. We are aiming for the 3rd or 4th weekend in March - confirmation will be posted as soon as dates are approved.

If you have already signed up and cannot attend the new dates, please email [email protected] for a refund.

A big thanks to the Colorado Mountain Mushers board members willing to help run this event in March!! We hope to see everyone in a couple of months 😊🐾

The permit has been approved for the same courses as last year. Unfortunately the attempt to make the shorter sprint courses into loops did not make it in the permit this year.

Now we hope for snow!! ❄️ If for some reason our dry spell continues and the race is canceled, entry fees will be refunded.

🚩 Regarding the 23 and 46 mile trails -
Unfortunately, these two trails have been denied in the permit for this year. We are looking at another potential 20 mile option, but with only a month to go, there are no guarantees. So sorry to all who were hoping to join us for this!
RGO will be spending time this winter/spring looking at better options for next year.

❗️Race prep post❗️ Vaccines and Volunteers 📣

👉Vaccine Requirements
To help folks prepare ahead of time - this race will require vaccines for all dogs on premises! Per the Colorado Mountain Mushers rules:

"All dogs at a CMM event are required to have current vaccinations required by state law and should include distemper, parvo, and rabies. Vaccination must be given at least 14 days prior to the start of the race."

Vaccine records can be emailed in ahead of time to [email protected] (this is ideal and will speed things along!), or have them readily available on site to be verified by the race veterinarians. Mushers that vaccinate their own dogs must be able to show the vaccine purchase receipt as well as the stickers and dates vaccinated for each dog.

We're looking for some assistance! Volunteers help our races run smoothly. The picture below is a list of positions that we're currently looking to fill. Let us know if you would like to help on Saturday or Sunday (or both days!), and, if you also plan to run in the race, which class(es) you will most likely be entering.

Hi Mushers!! Finally a race update! 🎉
Only 2 months away from the Siberian Rendezvous! While the permit is pending, here's the flyer and some details:

❄️NEW this year ~ Two longer "Mid-Distance" Sprint courses! Both options will require a handler/driver.

❄️Sprint and Skijor ~ Aiming for full loops for the 2 - 6.5 mile courses for no head on passing!

❄️Fun Run Saturday Only ~ Run the 2 mile course with any snow safe mode! Kick sled, skis, fat bike, etc.

More info to come! We can't wait to see you all! 🐕

🗓️ Date change! Please note the race has moved to Jan 17-18th. Several factors made this more doable than March. There should be ample snow by then and cold temps for happy dogs!
