🌺⛳️ HAWAII GOLF — THE DO’S & DON’TS! 🌴🏌️‍♂️

Aloha LVGA! Since I’m out here in Hawaii, I figured I’d share a few things about golfing on the islands. Hawaii golf is absolutely beautiful, but it’s definitely a different animal than playing back home in Vegas! 😂

Here are a few DO’s & DON’Ts if you’re planning a Hawaii golf trip:

✅ DO expect WIND! 🌬️
That nice ocean breeze feels amazing…until your perfect 7-iron suddenly decides it wants to visit another fairway. 😂 Club selection is everything.

✅ DO bring extra golf balls. 🏌️‍♂️
Between jungle, lava rock, water, and thick tropical vegetation, once that ball disappears, just say aloha and move on. 😂

✅ DO enjoy the scenery. 🌊🌴
Some Hawaii courses have views that will make you forget about your score—ocean cliffs, mountains, palm trees, and incredible sunsets. Take some pictures and enjoy it.

✅ DO respect the course and local etiquette. 🤙
Fix your divots, repair your ball marks, keep pace, and show respect to the staff and other golfers.

❌ DON’T assume every putt breaks toward the ocean. 😂
That old Hawaii golf theory will get you in trouble. Trust what you see and pay attention to the grain and slope.

❌ DON’T underestimate the humidity and sun. ☀️
Vegas heat is HOT, but Hawaii humidity is a different kind of punishment. Hydrate, use sunscreen, and don’t wait until you’re thirsty.

❌ DON’T expect Vegas pricing! 💰😂
Some of these resort courses will make your wallet cry before you even reach the first tee. But hey…you’re golfing in Hawaii!

MOST IMPORTANTLY…

Don’t get so caught up chasing a low score that you forget where you are.

Golf in Hawaii isn’t just about the game—it’s the experience. 🌺🌴🌊⛳️

Enjoy the views. Enjoy your playing partners. Laugh at the bad shots. And remember…

A bad day golfing in Hawaii is still a pretty damn good day! 😂🤙

Another LVGA game is officially in the books! 🔥

We started a little later than usual this time — close to noon — but fortunately, Mother Nature finally decided to be a little friendlier to us. 😂 The weather was MUCH better than some of the brutal summer rounds we've survived.

🍂 **Fall is coming, fellas!**

That means we're heading into **prime golf season in Las Vegas**. Yeah... golf gets more expensive now 💸, but after playing through 105°+ summer heat, paying a little extra to play without worrying about passing out from heat exhaustion might actually be worth it. 🤣🤣

A HUGE thank you to **TJ Wagner and the Reflection Bay team** for taking great care of our guys and accommodating LVGA. We really appreciate you! 🙏⛳️

We had a **FULL HOUSE — 16 players** — and from what I heard, everyone had a great time out there.

I wish I could've joined you guys... but apparently working in Hawaii is more important. 🌴😂 Hehehe.

Huge congratulations to our very own LVGA member Danny Acosta, who has officially secured the Amateur Players Tour Division 5 National Player of the Year title after another huge WIN at the North American Championship! 🇺🇸⛳️

Danny put together one of the most dominant seasons the Amateur Players Tour has ever seen, and now he has the hardware to prove it! 🏆🔥

⛳ LVGA RULES REMINDER — BUNKERS

Did you know the bunker rules changed in 2019?

Under the official USGA Rules of Golf (Rule 12.2b), touching the sand before your bunker shot is NOT automatically a penalty.

✅ You may generally touch the sand with your club.

But you CANNOT deliberately touch the sand:

❌ Right in front of or behind your ball
❌ During a practice swing
❌ During the backswing for your stroke
❌ To test the condition of the sand

👉 Bottom line: It’s not simply whether you touch the sand — it’s WHERE and WHY you touch it.

📌 These are the official USGA Rules, but remember that LVGA may have Local Rules for specific events. Always check and pay attention to the Local Rules before you play.
