ποΈββοΈ LVGA Summer Golf Hydration Tips βοΈπ§
With temperatures climbing in Las Vegas, staying hydrated isnβt just about playing better golfβitβs about staying safe. After my recent experience with heat exhaustion, I wanted to share a few tips that may help everyone enjoy their round and avoid a trip to urgent care.
β
Start Hydrating the Night Before
Donβt wait until you get to the course. Drink plenty of water the evening before and again when you wake up.
β
Drink Before Youβre Thirsty
If youβre thirsty, youβre already behind. Take a few sips of water every hole, even if you donβt feel thirsty.
β
Use Electrolytes
Water alone may not be enough. Consider sports drinks, electrolyte packets, Liquid I.V., Gatorade Zero, Pedialyte, or similar products to replace minerals lost through sweat.
β
Avoid Excessive Alcohol
A couple of beers may sound refreshing, but alcohol accelerates dehydration and increases the risk of heat-related illness.
β
Eat Something During the Round
Snacks such as bananas, nuts, protein bars, or peanut butter crackers help maintain energy and replace nutrients lost through sweating.
β
Dress for the Heat
Wear light-colored clothing, a wide-brim hat or bucket hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen. UV sleeves and cooling towels can make a huge difference.
β
Stay in the Shade When Possible
Use the cart canopy, seek shade while waiting on tee boxes, and avoid standing in direct sunlight longer than necessary.
π¨ Know the Warning Signs of Heat Exhaustion
* Dizziness
* Headache
* Nausea
* Excessive sweating
* Muscle cramps
* Weakness or fatigue
If you experience any of these symptoms, stop playing immediately, move to a cool area, drink fluids, and seek medical attention if symptoms worsen.
Remember, no golf game is worth risking your health. Letβs all play smart, stay hydrated, and make it through another Las Vegas summer safely.
See you on the course! β³π

ποΈββοΈ LVGA Game Recap β Angel Park Palm
π
Wednesday, June 3, 2026
Our 6:55 AM tee time at Angel Park Palm was absolutely perfect. The early morning weather was about as good as summer golf gets in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, as the round went on, the Vegas sun started doing what it does best. By the back nine, the heat was hitting hard, and I got a friendly reminder that summer golf may not be for me anymore! π
Despite the rising temperatures, 16 golfers showed up ready to battle both the course and the desert heat while chasing a share of the side game purse.
Before we get to the results, weβd like to welcome Arnold Delio and Dave Kerzman for joining Las Vegas Golfers Association (LVGA) for the first time. We hope you both had a great time, enjoyed the competition, and we look forward to seeing you at future events!

See you at the next LVGA event
ποΈββοΈ LVGA Observation of the Week ποΈββοΈ
Itβs amazing how golf worksβ¦
When we shoot 95:
β The greens are too slow.
β The bunkers have no sand.
β The fairways are hard.
β The rough is too thick.
β The pins are unfair.
β The course is in terrible shape.
Then thereβs always that one guy in the group who shoots 75 and takes all the skin money. π
Apparently the golf course only targets certain players.
Maybe the real issue isnβt the greens, bunkers, fairways, or pin placementsβ¦
Maybe the toughest course condition is the 6 inches between our ears. π€£

π¬οΈποΈββοΈ LVGA SKINS GAME RECAP β LAS VEGAS NATIONAL ποΈββοΈπ¬οΈ
What a classic Vegas morning for the Las Vegas Golfers Association crew today at Las Vegas National Golf Club.
We teed off at 6:50 AM with cold winds absolutely ripping across the course. Honestly, it felt more like Scotland than Las Vegas for a minute there. Late May in Vegas usually means heatβ¦ but today? Another one of those weird Vegas blessings that keeps golf interesting. π
The brutal conditions humbled almost everybody early on⦠EXCEPT ONE MAN.
π₯ Chas Boorman came out swinging and was the ONLY player out of all 18 golfers to make par on Hole #1 β cashing in the very first skin of the day while the rest of us were still trying to figure out which direction the wind was blowing.
As the round went on and the wind finally chilled out a bit, the birdies and net scores started rolling in. More laughs, more trash talk, more clutch putts, and another awesome day with the LVGA family.
And today we officially welcomed TWO new LVGA members:
π Ruben Pineda
π Troy Stoudnor
Great having you guys out there today. Hope you enjoyed the madness, the competition, and the camaraderie. Thatβs exactly what LVGA is all about.

Still trying to process this oneβ¦ ππ
Honored and grateful to win the Senior Net Division at the 2026 Nye County Amateur Championship at Mountain Falls Golf Club and even more humbled to be featured on the official Nevada Golf website. https://nevadagolf.org/southern-region-golfers-win-titles-at-2026-nye-county-amateur/
According to the article, I finished my final eight holes at one-under par to secure my first Nevada Golf Southern Region victory. Definitely one of those weekends where the grind, practice, scrambling, and mental game all came together.
One thing I always tell people β one of the biggest benefits of being part of the Las Vegas Golfers Association is getting opportunities to compete in Nevada Golf Association events and truly test your game in a competitive environment against solid players from all over the state. Tournament golf hits different. It exposes your weaknesses, sharpens your mental toughness, and honestly makes you a better golfer overall.
Big thank you to everyone who has supported me, played with me, rooted for me, and especially all my LVGA members who continue pushing each other to improve every week. The grind continues. β³π₯
