J19 Black Mythology
“From Cane Pole to Rod & Reel”
1st Annual Fishing Classic!

Once Upon a time, in the world of competitive bass fishing, there was a renowned tournament director named Ron Pratt. He had spent years overseeing the “Don’t B’ Wishin B’ Fishin” Online Bass team series, bringing together anglers from across the country to compete in thrilling competitions.

One day, as Ron was preparing for the upcoming season, he received an unexpected offer from an organization J19 Black Mythology LLC. They were hosting a prestigious event called “From Cane Pole to Rod and Reel” fishing tournament classic scheduled for July 23rd to July 26th, 2024. The tournament was designed to celebrate the rich history of African Americans and fishing, from traditional campo techniques to the modern era of rod and reel fishing.

Intrigued by the unique concept of the tournament, Ron was honored to be approached by J19 black mythology LLC to serve as the tournament director. He saw it as an exciting opportunity to bring together anglers of all ages and backgrounds, and to showcase the evolution of fishing techniques over the years.

With his expertise and passion for the sport, Ron accepted the offer and immediately began working closely with the organizers to ensure that the “From Cane Pole to Rod & Reel” tournament classic on Lake Allatoona in Atlanta, GA would be a memorable and inclusive event with the giving away of nine fully loaded bass boats (who does that?). They plan to host various competitions, workshops, and demonstrations, highlighting the diverse ways of fishing that have shaped sports history.

Throughout the planning process, Ron worked tirelessly to create a welcome and competitive atmosphere for all participants. He carefully curated the tournament schedule, incorporating elements that would honor the traditions of fishing while embracing the advancements that have propelled the sport forward.

When the day of the tournament arrives, the atmosphere will be electric. With anglers proudly displaying their cherished cane poles alongside state-of-the-art fishing rods and reels, embodying the spirit of unity and diversity within the fishing community.
The “From Cane Pole to Rod & Reel” tournament classic will unfold as a resounding success with participants forging new friendships, sharing stories, and competing in various events that honor the legacy and evolution of fishing techniques.
