Well we had a few showers just enough to make a rainbow but the cameras on the phone don't show it to well. Let's RIDE!!!!

Rodeo didn’t begin under bright arena lights or in front of thousands of people.

It began out on the open range.

On July 4, 1869, in the small town of Deer Trail, Colorado, cowboys from neighboring ranches came together to see who was the best at the skills they used every day — riding, roping, and handling livestock. What started as a friendly competition between working cowboys helped give birth to a tradition that is still alive more than 150 years later.

From those early ranches in Colorado to small-town rodeos all across America, rodeo has always been about more than competition. It’s about tradition, community, family, and honoring the country and way of life that brought us here.

And there may be no better way to begin a rodeo than standing together for our National Anthem.

At the 2026 Fall Festival Rodeo in Pahrump, Nevada, Michelle Hinton had the honor of singing “The Star-Spangled Banner” as the arena came together for one of rodeo’s greatest traditions. Michelle Chappell Pahrump Fall Fest Rodeo
