My friend Ron Zickert wrote an article about Arizona quail hunting in the current issue of Pointing Dog Journal.

I made the article into photos, the first is Jake the onderpup pointing in Arizona quail with me approaching for the flush.  I miss that sweet dog so much.

The second is a photo of me putting boots on young Tache.

I had a wonderful weekend chasing quail with Nance Ceccarelli and Paul. Very few birds, but lots of fantastic dog work. Here are a few photos from our adventure.

I have reported previously that this quail season in Arizona has been dry and sparse for birds. This weekend we put boots on the ground and I mean rough and hard ground with good dogs and we found some decent bunches of quail. Our boot leather was rewarded. Hard hunting, tired, hunters, and dogs, but  it paid off.
