Nike vs Under Armour vs Mizuno: The HONEST comparison
I've been sponsored by multiple brands throughout my pro career.
I've worn them ALL. Tested them ALL. And here's what nobody else will tell you... 👇
Nike: Strong brand recognition, easy to find, attractive price point.
BUT—Nike's focus is spread across dozens of sports. Volleyball isn't their primary market. This shows up in the details.
Under Armour: Excellent compression technology across all products.
BUT—They're relatively new to volleyball-specific equipment. They don't have decades of player feedback built into designs.
Mizuno: Specializes in volleyball. 40+ years perfecting products with feedback from national teams and pro leagues worldwide.
Here's the question:
Do you want knee pads from a company that makes everything, or from a company that SPECIALIZES in volleyball? 🤔
My guide includes complete brand comparison:
📌 Engineering differences that matter
📌 Volleyball-specific vs generic design
📌 Real performance testing
📌 Honest pros and cons of each brand
No brand bias. Just 30+ years of elite experience.

Which brand does YOUR player wear? Why did you choose it? 👇

🏐 I’ve been sponsored by multiple brands, but I keep coming back to Mizuno for a reason.
Throughout my career, I’ve worn equipment from Mizuno, Asics, Champion, and others.
Some brands made good products.
But too often, volleyball players were treated like an afterthought.
A lot of companies build for bigger sports first, then try to make those products “work” for volleyball.
That approach misses the details that matter:
→ how volleyball players land
→ how often they dive
→ how much lateral movement they make
→ how long they wear gear in tournament settings
Mizuno has spent decades building specifically for volleyball, and you can feel that difference.
That’s exactly what I break down in my new article:
✅ T-10 Plus vs LR6
✅ Position-specific recommendations
✅ Brand comparison
✅ What actually matters when buying knee pads

Getting the wrong size is costing your player performance.**
Too tight = cuts circulation and creates discomfort
Too loose = slides down during play
But here's what most families don't know: you need to measure correctly. 📏
Mizuno uses a straightforward sizing system based on leg circumference about 2 inches above the kneecap.
Not at the kneecap. Not below it. Above it.
This matters because:
Wrong measurement = wrong fit = slippage, discomfort, distraction, and less confidence on defense.
My comprehensive guide includes:
✅ How to measure correctly
✅ Mizuno sizing tips
✅ When to size up for growing athletes
✅ Why fit affects performance more than most people realize
If your player is constantly adjusting knee pads, sizing may be the real problem.
