Nevada Youth Sports is proud to partner with Vegas For Athletes to offer FREE ECG Heart Screenings for all NYS athletes ahead of the VFA Summer Games.

Sudden cardiac arrest is one of the leading causes of death in young athletes, and nearly 90% show no prior symptoms. A quick, non-invasive ECG screening is one of the most effective ways to detect potential issues early and help keep our athletes safe.

Screenings will take place on May 9 at the NYS Center and are open to athletes of all sports. Each screening is fast, simple, and reviewed by a pediatric cardiologist, with results returned within 7–10 business days.

Paddle & Play returns to the NYS Center for a 6-week adult pickleball experience built for intermediate players (3.0–3.5) who want to sharpen their skills and stay competitive!

Each Friday session is structured to help you improve and play with purpose, featuring 30 minutes of focused instruction followed by 1.5 hours of live gameplay. It’s a strong balance of development and competition in a fun, fast-paced environment.

The program runs Fridays from May 4 through June 19, 11 AM to 1 PM, and is priced at $120 per player for all sessions.

Spots are limited, so if you’re looking for consistent reps, better play, and a great group to compete with, this is your opportunity to get on the court and take your game to the next level.

The UNLV Rebel Volleyball Camp welcomes girls and boys to come and train with UNLV Head Volleyball Coach, Malia Shoji! This top volleyball camp in Nevada welcomes athletes of all abilities, looking to improve their volleyball skills in a fun and competitive environment!

Athletes from Las Vegas and beyond will develop through training and competitions daily. ​Under the direction of the UNLV Coaching staff along with current and former players, each of the four camps will focus on making better volleyball players in a fun, competitive environment.

Highlights Include: Training from College coaches and players, excellent training facilities, a minimum 1:10 coach to camper ratio, and all Skills, Advanced Skills, Rising Rebels, Prospect and Team Camp Programs.

And the pick is in! With the 142nd pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans select Fernando Carmona, OL, Arkansas!

Fernando grew up playing flag football and basketball with NYS, but started playing tackle football during high school. He was part of the Elite Wildcats club squad of Las Vegas High School with NYS during Covid.

He went on to commit to San Jose State, where he started at left tackle for two seasons with the Spartans and earned honorable mention All-Mountain West honors. He transferred to Arkansas where he started two more seasons, and earned All-SEC honors both years while serving as team captain for the Razorbacks.
