🚨Attention Everyone who is fairly Fit 🚨
(This is specific to people who have had a consistent training regimen for more than six months, this does not represent a Heart Rate Response of anyone who is brand new to exercise)

Your Warm Up is Extremely important!!!
A greater cardiovascular capacity requires a longer progressive warm up.
it should be a gradual progressive warm up that during the last 1/3 you’ve achieved 85-88% heart rate max in the middle upper yellow zone.

Do you find yourself getting frustrated doing strength training sessions with your heart rate monitor because it seems like your heart rate isn’t elevating as high as it should be?

Are you trying to do high intensity interval training but can’t seem to get your heart rate out of 50-65%?

Here’s a few examples of what happens throughout your training session if you get a proper warm-up first, versus no warm-up.
Check out the overall calories burned, particularly how much more I burned with an appropriate warm up.

After an appropriate warm-up, my heart rate is exactly where I want it to be for my strength training session.
without a warm-up, my heart rate stays in gray or blue most of the time, and I reach muscular fatigue prior to significant cardiovascular elevation.
Without an appropriate warm-up I burn way less overall calories throughout my training session and it physically does not feel like I’m doing as much work. They heavier loads seem even more challenging because my heart is not transferring gases and energy as quickly as it could be.

Your Ideal High Intensity Range is anywhere between 68-93%. (it doesn’t have to be loads of red, in fact it shouldn’t be, because the red zone is where you lose your technique, so it should be used sparingly for particular exercises).

Below are some Suggested warm up durations based on a consistent training regimen over time.

0-3 months: 5 min warm up
3-6 months: 10 min warm up
6-9 months: 15 min warm up
> 9 months: 20 min warm up
