Las Vegas, Nv (April 28th, 2022) – This past weekend Kern County Raceway Park hosted the, “Oil and Gas Industry Salute 80,” Spears Srl Southwest Tour Sigma Performance Services Pro Late Model event on the half mile paved oval. 14 year old Tyler Reif set out from Las Vegas, Nevada to take on the series that has his focus, wholeheartedly. His previous racing seasons have consisted of many forums, including the U.S. Legend Cars along with his Late Model program. Last season he set fourth the 2022 season plans with one thing in mind, The Spears SRL Pro Late model 2022 Championship. In points racing, it takes a calmer driver, not taking to many risks to maintain position, as many have won championships with only consistent top 5 runs. “It’s changed me a lot for sure,” said Tyler. “I used to be the more impatient and up on the wheel the whole time, but after last year riding behind Jeremy Doss for 30 to 40 laps, saving my tires and waiting until the end to go, has taught me a lot. I am definitely more patient.”

After starting from the sixth spot, and fighting a lose racecar, Tyler hung to the outside until the cars thinned out and he found himself settling in 5th with a straight line of cars in front of him. “I tried my hardest to conserve and just ride in my spot until the half way break which I did, it was hard saving the tires though, due too how loose the car was,” said Tyler. At the half way point the SRL Series Officials call for a break and give the teams time to make adjustments and take on fuel. Crew chief Tony Jackson made critical adjustments and at the green for the second half Tyler was more confident in his drive forward. “The Dewar Farms Chevrolet Camaro felt really strong, definitely felt we had a car that could of battled for the lead.” But a now conservative racer, truly maintained his patience he spoke of earlier. Tyler continued, “I feel with maybe 10 to 20 more laps or possibly a caution, I could of had a shot to win, but I’m pretty happy about getting the points lead back, that’s for sure!”

The next SRL Pro Late Model event will be May 21st at Irwindale Speedway on the 1/3 mile. “I’m hoping to go there and get the win and extending my points lead. Last year that was my strongest track.”

Always in gratitude for those involved in his racing career, Tyler shared his thanks, “To start off, the whole Reif Racing Team!! This team is absolutely the best, they’re all like family too me. I mean it’s unreal how hard my crew works to get my car 100%. Crew Chief, Tony Jackson, Matt Jackson, and Dave Jackson. Without these 3 we could not do it. Tony makes my car work great every time!, and Matt Jackson for being such a good spotter. On top of that Tres Cleeland, Joe, Ethan Deguevara, Aaron Schankerman, and Andrew. Also my Mom and Dad, they’re the main reason this program is going. My dad Travis Reif who drives our near 100 foot hauler and working his butt off in the shop. My mom Tori Reif aka Tire Mama for working so hard and making my tires fast, and My Grandparents for everything they do.

TANNER REIF SET FOR 2022 ARCA MENARDS SERIES WEST WITH SUNRISE FORD

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA (January 21, 2022) – Las Vegas’ Tanner Reif, 16, has signed with car owner Bob Bruncati and crew chief by Jeff Schraeder, to drive the No.9 Sunrise Ford in the 2022 ARCA Menards Series West. The 2021 Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway NASCAR Pro Late Model champion will compete alongside 2021 West Series runner-up Jake Drew in blue and orange Ford Fusions.

“I’m really excited about racing and learning a new car with a new team,” Reif said. “My expectations for the year are to take it all in, learn as much as I can, and bring home Rookie of the Year.”

Reif’s events will be broadcast live on FloRacing and available in tape-delay on USA Network. The season gets underway on March 11 at Phoenix Raceway in a combination race with the national ARCA Menards Series. Reif becomes the latest driver to ascend from INEX Legends, Jr. Late Models, and Pro Late Models into ARCA competition.

His 2021 Las Vegas championship came on the strength of four race wins. He added a fourth place in the SPEARS Pro Late Model Series championship with a best finish of second. Reif won a 50-lap preliminary feature during the 2021 Chilly W***y 150 weekend at Tucson Speedway as well.

Reif joins a three-time championship winning team in Sunrise Ford, most recently in 2018 with Derek Thorn. Sunrise Ford’s 2021 rookie driver Jake Drew tied for the championship and finished second in the series after the tie breaker. The previous pedigree of crew chief Bill Sedgwick and Jeff Schraeder working with young drivers gives Reif optimism for the upcoming season.

“I’m really looking forward to racing Phoenix because it’ll be the first one mile track I’ve been on,” Reif said. “Growing up I used to watch Sonoma on TV and now I’m actually racing on it. It’s crazy! I’m living the dream.”
