Long day on Wednesday but honoured to attend The Celebration Of Life for my friend Raider Legend Roderick Darryl Martin. I met his younger brother Ricky and his daughters Jessica and Jade Ashley. I also met the children of Raider Legend friends Mike Davis (Mike Jr.) Arthur ’Skip’ ‘Dr. Death’ Thomas (Amber Thomas). Reconnected with Raider Legends Henry Lawrence, Marcus Allen, Greg Townsend, Ira Matthews, Mervyn Fernandez, Leo Gray, Reggie Kinlaw, Frank Hawkins, Vince Evans, Mike Haynes, Lester Hayes, James Lofton, Jim Plunkett, Terry Robiski, Matt Millen and a bunch of Rod’s school and college mates from Hamilton High, L.A. City College and SC! Beautiful tribute and love was shown this afternoon for a very special player and friend.

My friend and Raider Legend Rod Martin passed away 2 weeks after his 72nd birthday on the morning of April 20th. His Celebration Of Life service will be held on May 27th. I am asking all members of this group to show your love, support, appreciation and respect for Roderick Darryl Martin #53 by posting a picture of yourself and where you’re from in Silver and Black attire on this page so his family can see and I hope feel the love for Rod on that day!

It is with great sorrow that I let my friends know that my close friend, Raider Legend Roderick Martin, received his heavenly wings early this morning. I have been visiting him on Mondays to shave him, except this morning when I could not find his name on the registry. Condolences and prayers to the Martin Family, Rod's brother Ricky, sisters, daughters Jessica and Jade Ashley, his wife Devin, his Raider teammates and to The Nation! We have lost a great one and he is already missed!
