Flexible dieting can be a huge tool in sticking to a "diet" plan. It's okay to incorporate some so called "bad" or "dirty" foods into your diet. Working them in will help keep you from completely falling off the path of achieving your fitness goals. A diet that is enjoyable is a diet that one can adhere to for the long run. Take a look at how I still stay within my caloric goals while enjoying whatever foods I'd like for the day. Keep in mind my caloric intake may be much higher than YOUR personal requirements. That's a topic for another video though :). While you're at it, please subscribe to the channel, slap the thumbs up button, and feel free to share. Trying to grow my channel!

I am frequently asked about the "best way to lose weight." My answer is always the same. "Eat the foods you like, but maintain a small caloric deficit." This, in turn, is typically followed with a confused expression. People are looking for a list of magic foods (which are most commonly purported by fitness articles and so called "fitness gurus" as a means to push supplements and an overpriced fitness program). The truth of the matter is food selection has little effect on the actual gaining and losing of adipose tissue. Sure, foods can affect mood, energy level, blood glucose levels, and health markers, but ANY food has that effect. To claim that a certain food is off limits simply because it is deemed by the mainstream populace to be a "dirty" food is an utter fallacy. It is the entirety of a diet that will dictate overall health, function, and mood. So, in short, eat what you like, be sensible, maintain a small caloric deficit, and brag to your friends that you can still have your cake and eat it too ;).
Today's dieting hack: Salad mix.
If you have an insatiable appetite, simply adding salad mix to the mix (see what I did there?) is a great way to fill up when calories are on the drop. An entire bag of garden mix has roughly 12 grams of carbohydrates, and if you swap the high calorie dressing for something simple like a sprinkle of apple cider vinegar and seasoning, you have an incredibly large amount of food for a small amount of calories. Add some diced up chicken breast and low fat or fat free cheese to make this a low calorie, protein packed meal.
Remember, you don't have to be COMPLETELY miserable when dieting :).
It's been an extremely long time since I've updated, but wanted to inform you that I have room to take on two new clients. I believe in a flexible, scientific-based approach to dieting. Whether you need nutritional assistance, training advice, or a combination of the two, I can help you on your journey. Feel free to message me with any inquiries you might have.
