The Institute for Career Transitions develops strategic initiatives to address the most critical and pertinent career transition challenges. Through these initiatives, ICT brings together leading academic scholars to research multiple strategies and produce sound recommendations for career professionals and policy makers.
The Institute for Career Transitions’ mission is to generate effective strategies, offer practical support, and increase public understanding of the challenges facing professionals in career transitions. ICT carries out its mission by ✹ Developing strategic initiatives that address the most critical and pertinent career transition challenges, enabling affiliated academic scholars to research multiple strategies and produce sound recommendations to career professionals and policy makers; ✹ Encouraging collaboration & innovation between academic scholars, career professionals, and leaders from the private and non-profit sector through meetings, conferences, and strategic initiatives; ✹ Providing a repository of updated resources and literature for scholars, career professionals, and workers on issues relating to career transitions; ✹ Generating & disseminating research to increase public awareness and education on career transitions.

Through their project, Susan and Samuel's mission is to improve the cultural perception of older workers and influence public policy to ameliorate this demographic-groups' re-employment obstacles. Beyond financial well-being, the psychological and social impact of unemployment and under-employment are just beginning to be explored. How do we maintain our well-being amidst the turbulence and transitions? What forms of support help us find meaningful and remunerative work?
