It's ✨almost✨ time to blast off into the galaxy as League City Animal Care prepares to launch another out-of-this-world Late Night Adopt-A-Thon to "make space" in our shelter! All adoption fees are waived thanks to BISSELL Pet Foundation and MetLife Pet Insurance!

PLUS, our friends at Houston PetSet will be providing 50 FREE microchips for pets! (Free microchips are while supplies last and will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. For safety, please be sure to have dogs restrained on a leash and cats contained in a carrier.)

🗣️UPDATE: I-45 IS NOW OPEN!
Work was completed early and all lanes are open as of 12:30pm on 7/22.

⚠️I-45 LANE CLOSURES THIS WEEKEND
Starting at 6 a.m. on Saturday, July 22 there will be a total closure of the I-45 main lanes in both directions between FM 518 and NASA Road 1 while contractors install the final overhead sign structure. Lanes are expected to be back open by Sunday, July 23, at noon.

⚠️PLEASE AVOID THE AREA IF POSSIBLE. Traffic delays are expected and we highly encourage residents to find alternate routes and avoid this area during the closures.

There will also be closures of I-45 entrance ramps at southbound Bay Area Blvd. and northbound FM 518, and the southbound exit ramp to FM 518.

ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT FIREWORKS EXTRAVAGANZA
We are SO excited for tonight's Fireworks Extravaganza and want to ensure everyone has a safe and fun time. Check out the event map for parking, food truck placement, seating areas, etc.

The event starts tonight (July 3) at 6 pm, but you can park as early as 5 pm or catch a FREE shuttle from Homeotwn Heroes anytime between 5 pm and 10:30 pm. FIREWORKS BEGIN AT 9pm.

If you choose to watch the fireworks outside the park and still want to hear the music, download the Pyrocast app and enter code Y9Q3.

FREE POOLS THIS WEEKEND 💦
UPDATE: Unfortunately, the pool at Hometown will be closed on Saturday due to a swim meet. But it will still be open and free July 2–4. We apologize for the mistake.

Thanks to an anonymous donor, both the Walker Pool and Hometown Heroes Park Pool will be FREE for League City residents ages 16 and under this weekend.

Hometown Heroes Park Pool will also be free on Monday July 3 (for 16 and under) and Tuesday, July 4 for ALL residents for Citizen Appreciation Day.
