1909 Mountain Smoke BBQ

1909 Mountain Smoke BBQ competed today in the KCBS World Ribs Finals. Competing in a field of 79 best of the best, we placed 32. We will give it another shot on Sunday in the World Backyard division cooking Ribs and Chicken.

1909 Mountain Smoke BBQ Tallulah Falls High School Competition BBQ Team

The TFS 1909 Mountain Smoke BBQ Team kicked off the competition season this weekend at the 11th Annual BBQ Festival at Coolray Field, a competition that benefits Home of Hope at Gwinnett Children's Shelter. Competing against 33 backyard teams, the team earned impressive results in their first competition of the year:

• 5th Place – Ribs
• 6th Place – Pork
• 8th Place – Chicken
• 5th Place Overall

Here’s how we wrapped up the weekend at the BBQ & Boogie event in Calhoun, GA:
2nd place in Kid Que Burger
4th place in Brisket
6th place in Ribs
7th place in Pork
12th place in Chicken
11th place Overall
With just three competitions under their belt, this group of students has been incredible. They continue to learn and improve with every event. So far, we've had 14 entries overall — 11 of those have placed in the Top 10, and 6 have been Top 5 finishes!
