How to grow muscle fast
Increase training volume - number of reps multiplied by the number of sets.
To increase volume, you simply lower your intensity to 65-75% of your 1RM and shoot for 4-7 sets / 12-20 reps.

Focus on the eccentric contraction - it is understood that the eccentric value in training is far better at triggering hypertrophy
In weightlifting you have two phases in muscle contractions; eccentric (easy) and concentric (hard). i.e. Squat
So, to focus on eccentric training you’d simply increase your training load on eccentric lifts or add a super slow method (6-8secs) to the eccentric value.

Decrease between set rest intervals -
Historically, when lifting for hypertrophy, rest periods of 30-90secs encourage a quick release in muscle building hormones (testosterone and HGH) but you have to make sure you’re truly fatiguing your muscles. #keephopealive #musclebuilding #gripstrength #plumbline #PGs #familytime

With the latest bad news that the shutdown will likely last through most (if not all) of April, it's a good reminder to us all that we can still be active and should be active.

We must continue to improve ourselves!

You don't have to just sit around and wait for life to get back to normal... HELLO!!! THIS IS YOUR NEW NORMAL! Now what are you going to do with it? Make the most of each day and make each day count.

The good news is that one of the easiest ways we can do this is by focusing on our fitness. Not just maintaining, because that would be just as asinine as waiting for things to get back to normal, but to IMPROVE your fitness!

Because a few of you raised your hand and said you're interested (not a lot but enough) in learning more about my 30-Day Virtual Conditioning Program, I'm going to give you the opportunity to do just that.

Bottom line, if you've been following me since the days of the Women only Bootcamps, Studio Bleu, or when we officially opened up the doors to our very first facility in Leesburg, that's great but it's not a requirement. The country is facing something that we have never had to deal with before as COVID-19 impacts every aspect of our lives. We have been inundated with information from the media, news outlets, retail stores, fitness centers, etc. regarding how we should move through space and time these next few weeks. Many of you started on your 1% journey with Plumbline recently, while others have been following along for months or years. Regardless of the amount of time you have been focusing on your goals, everyone is going to be forced to pivot as we adapt to our new cadence. Now, more than ever, it is critical to continue to nurture our mental, physical, and emotional well-being.

While we will dive deeper into topics as the days and weeks go on, today l wanted to share some initial pointers as you establish a new routine within the parameters of “flattening the curve.” There is already a lot of misinformation out there, and Plumbline will continue to bring you proven and science-backed methods to incorporate during this time. Our mission at Plumbline has been, and always will be, to provide health and fitness resources to our community and those surrounding. In this dynamic time, our intention is to continue that mission without interruption. In the coming weeks and months, we will continue to provide training, education, and resources to our Plumbline family and especially to our nation's heroes as many of you face extraordinary circumstances in the service of our community and our nation. We will do this in-person as we are able while maintaining best practices, and remotely when we are not.

Additionally, we'll be providing consistent content, guidance, and recommendations for optimal health and performance from our team here at Plumbline. You'll find these actionable resources on our social media accounts and in email distributions. Healthy bodies, strong minds, and a warrior spirit are necessary during stressful, uncertain situations. We're here to ensure you're provided for and the information you need to perform your best. We work, we plan, we organize, we go, fueling ourselves on coffee and pure determination. Until, that is, we inevitably fall out either on the sofa or if we're lucky into our beds. The topic of these post I've been giving you, is how to get more energy when more and more of us are having energy issues.
Just like houseplants need water, our energy reserves need regular replenishing.

To cap off my 6 strategies to keep you humming along and, happily, really don’t take much effort. It's the consistency that's a m***a.

#6. Move your Bod!

It seems a bit counter intuitive if you're wanting more energy and I tell you to expend more energy but if you're working out, you just feel better right?! I'm not talking about getting up and doing 100 burpees, I'm talking about a REGULAR workout routine that takes you 30-45mins / 3-4 times a week.

The intent is on getting connected to your source and getting connected to the Creator!

Just commit to a regular workout routine and I guarantee you're gonna feel better. My off aerobic day routine consist of a quick warmup followed by engaging movements (stretching/technique), the main parts of the strength workout and then foam roll. I feel accomplished and it makes my body feel amazing. Especially for those of us who are getting older;-)

You can do your intention setting and stretch at the same time if that feels good to you! And remember to add some deep breaths too!
