KC Raqs World Dance

KC Raqs is teaming up with KC Renaissance Festival to double your KC fun! Starting Sunday, stay tuned for a week of giveaways where you can win two free tickets to the Renfest--a $50 value awarded to seven lucky winners! While I'll be announcing different challenges each day, here's how to get started:

1. Make sure you are "following" my Middle Eastern Dance with Rahil page (you must be listed as one of my followers to win).
2. Share my upcoming events, like discover belly dance, Haflaween, etc... and get your friends to SIGN UP/ follow through! When someone mentions your name when signing up for a class series, you not only get one free class, you'll be put in the running for our seven days of Renfest ticket giveaways.
3. SIGN UP FOR STUFF and stay tuned every single day to enter to win!

Last call to get signed up for February class series, happening Mondays and Tuesdays! We've also got a great technique workshop on the 15th, followed by a "costume consultation/ fashion show". Bring your new or troublesome costumes and get help with fit and adjustments!

Second Saturday Workshops are back in 2025! We kick things off tomorrow in the best possible way: drilling the technique YOU request, troubleshooting problem spots, and perfecting details. All of my workshops are available in person and on Zoom, but sign up by noon CST if you're attending on Zoom (so I have time to send your link). Those of you coming in person are welcome to join us for Ethiopian food after class!

In February, we will get into some nuance and stylization, taking fundamental moves and adding variations and layers.

In March, it's the highly requested "All About Arms".

Registration will open for February classes and workshops within the next week!

The new series of Monday classes start up tonight! Both level 1 and level 3 will work some fun Combos! Reminder that there are no classes tomorrow due to election day!

Time has changed, we are experiencing some lovely November weather, and it is time for our 2024 FINALE Classes to begin!

When asked to write my Hemingway six-word story for a recent dance event intro, I wrote:

"Sewing seeds in dance, I bloom." And I think that says everything that needs to be said about Haflaween.

I'm just SO PROUD of my students, SO GRATEFUL to my support network and "helpers", SO IN AWE of this dance community. Every person who took the stage was a stunning success. An extra special congratulations to all those who took the stage for the first time, whether as a soloist or in a group. I cannot wait to see what is next for all of you!
