Cerrosafe to the rescue! This stuff is awesome. I bet there are way more ways to use this than I can imagine. This was a case head separation that would justify a few expressive words. Now the real question I have is why did this happen in this particular gun?

If someone in the comments would be willing to share a way to drastically reduce dialing-in time I would love to hear it! Some barrels line out nicely, others seem like they fight until the bitter end. I use mostly Pacific Tool and Gauge indicator rods. I have double checked with a long reach indicator and the difference is measurable, but negligible. Remember these are muzzle threads, not a new chamber.

I wish the rasp feature wasn’t in this barrel. I’m not sure lapping is worth it. We can shorten the barrel down to 22 inches and make it go away.

Let’s slow it down for the weekend.

Using an inserted cutting tool and taking light cuts, the chip breaker portion of that tool rarely is functionable. .010” passes. Using a stall in the pass usually lets them break.
