“When you let them face challenges, you let them learn”
When I set out to give girls the opportunity to step into the travel/club world—while learning the game, building real skills, and becoming part of something bigger—this is exactly what I meant.
Because here’s the truth…
Growth isn’t a record.
It’s not a ring.
It’s not a scoreboard.
✨ Growth is the moment it clicks.
✨ It’s fundamentals turning into instinct.
✨ It’s confidence showing up where doubt used to live.
And THESE girls… they are growing.
I’m so incredibly proud of the GRIND they’ve been putting in. Every play, every moment… you could see the connections being made.
Not just as players… but as a team. As a family. As something bigger.
And that’s what Forge is all about.
We GRIND for it.
We GROW through it.
And we GIVE it back—to each other and to the game.
This is just the beginning… and it’s already something special.
Back at it again tomorrow…
Three games (hopefully more). One squad.
ALL HEART 🦩🔥

Game day!
Lord,
Thank You for bringing this team together.
Help us to grind with effort, grow in confidence, and give our best to each other.
Guide our attitudes, protect our bodies, and let our actions reflect teamwork and respect.
No matter the outcome, help us leave the field better than we came.
Amen
Let’s Go!
Fellow coaches here's how ya do it Brownie Points 101:
step 1: plan a date night
step 2: pack the vehicle up before your date so your spouse doesn't have to stress about it post date or in the morning
step 3: make sure they enjoy the date night 😉
bonus: win the tournament the next day! 💪🏽🦩

Today wasn’t about the scoreboard.
It was about growth.
Our Forge Flamingos stepped onto the field against strong high level competition — and they battled. Heads up. No quitting. Competing every inning.
That’s courage. That’s grit. That’s culture.
Game situations like the ones we faced today can’t always be taught in practice. Sometimes the only way to grow is to step into the fire and learn through it. And these girls did exactly that.
I’m especially proud of our pitchers who fought through tough moments and kept showing up. Resilience is built pitch by pitch.
Would we have loved to walk away with wins? Absolutely.
But what I saw today was something even more important:
🦩 A team coming together
🦩 Players making adjustments
🦩 Smiles even after tough losses
🦩 Growth happening in real time
After only two months together — with just one full practice where everyone was present and one true field practice — these girls are competing at a high level. That’s something to be proud of.
This season is going to be special. I can feel it.
At Forge, we don’t just chase wins.
We build confident, resilient young women who learn to grind through hard things, grow from every moment, and give their best — no matter the outcome.
The future is bright for this flock.
🦩 The Flock.
This is what it’s about.
Not just reps.
Not just wins.
Not just uniforms and tournaments.
But breaking bread together.
Before we ever step between the lines, we sit at the table. We laugh. We tell stories. We refuel. We build trust.
Because at Forge Flamingos, we aren’t just building softball players — we’re building a flock.
A flock flies together.
A flock protects each other.
A flock grows stronger side by side.
There’s something powerful about sharing a meal. It slows things down. It reminds us that we belong to something bigger than ourselves. It creates connection beyond positions and batting orders.
When these girls sit shoulder to shoulder, breaking bread, they’re learning:
🦩 How to be teammates
🦩 How to support one another
🦩 How to celebrate together
🦩 How to lead and how to follow
This table is just as important as the field.
Our foundation isn’t just fundamentals and footwork.
It’s family.
It’s fellowship.
It’s Grind. Grow. Give.
This is The Flock. And we’re building something that lasts far beyond the season. 💗🖤

What people see:
Game day.
What they don’t see:
Early mornings.
Late nights.
Practice plans.
Lineups.
Fundraising.
Encouragement texts.
Film review.
Prayers.
Heart.
If I’m going to ask these girls to grind, grow, and give… I better be willing to do the same.
But confidence doesn’t happen by accident. Details matter.
They deserve special. 💗
Valentine’s parties. 💘
100th day of school celebrations. 🎉
Friday night practice. 🥎
We had a few variables working against us — and yes, there may have been a little sugar crash in the mix — but these ladies still showed up ready to work.
Was it our cleanest practice? No.
Did they execute and show just how much they’ve grown over the last two months as a TEAM? Absolutely.
Practice was fast-paced. We pushed comfort zones. We identified where we need to break things down and get better. And that’s growth.
I remind them every time we’re together: the two things you can always control are your attitude and your effort. That doesn’t just apply to softball — that’s a life principle. My job isn’t just to coach the game. It’s to help them develop the tenacity, resilience, and confidence to carry into life.
I am so proud of these young ladies and humbled to be their coach.
Love you, girls. 💗
