Great but challenging day on the fat bike for Gravel Worlds Winter Endurance 50k. Wind and cold temps made it a tough day. But managed to take home 1st in women’s fat and Rob got 2nd in Men’s 50k Fat. Great day spent with friends!

Gravel Worlds 2023 Privateer 75… single Speed! Had a plan going into it on Friday night, then the 3 inches of rain Saturday morning changed all of that. It turned into a day of just surviving and finishing. Probably one of the toughest days on the bike with the soft roads all day and the mile of hike a bike and on a single speed. Almost pulled the plug several times after I started my legs cramping around mile 40. It was a long second half having to walk part way up most hills due to not being able to stand to climb. But I pushed through, even walking some still meant finishing. Even though it wasn’t how I wanted the day to go, I finished and placed 3rd in women’s single speed. It’s amazing what you can put your body through if you keep your mind in it!
