We would like to congratulate coach Sophie on completing her certification as an ACE personal trainer. She began coaching with us in November in a group class atmosphere and hopes to use this certification to help coach those in group class and expand her personal training clients.

"I hope to use this certification to help me provide better one on one training, from creating quality programming for personal training to being equipped with the background and skills to discuss client needs and goals."

Our athletes goals change all the time. Our job as coaches is to make sure we are aware of their goals so when they change we can adjust how we coach them.

Drew went from bulking and gaining strength as his goals to cutting and getting better at his gymnastics!

The cool thing about Drew is he is so consistent and hit is first goal, and now he wants more!!!

Down 9 lbs during his first cut, pull ups and double unders will definitely get easier!

Commonly asked questions in regards to what’s happening in our gym for Friday Night Lights for the CrossFit Open (2/25, 3/4 , 3/11 5-7pm):

Q: How much does it cost to participate in Friday Night Lights?
A: Members can participate for Free! Not a member, now is the perfect time to join!! (www.crossfitlincoln.com)

Q: How do I sign up?
A: You will sign up just like you would for class. The only difference is it will be a heat time on Friday nights (2/25, 3/4, 3/11 5-7pm). Still on Wodify and the heats will open the night before to sign up.

Q: Do I have to have a judge?
A: All athletes during Friday Night Lights will have a judge during their heat. This is for a couple reasons. 1. To keep the competitive feel 2. To hold all athletes to the same standards 3. To build our community, supporting other athletes as they complete the Open workout.

Q: Do I have to judge?
A: This year is a little different. We are asking all athletes to judge the athletes in the heat following theirs. This is for a couple reasons 1. This is a big builder for our community. Where all athletes get to learn the standards and help hold their fellow athletes accountable and encourage them along the way 2. It’s fun!!! 3. It is nice to not have to count your reps once in awhile 😜

Q: Do I have to take the judges course?
A: Short answer is no. We do encourage everyone to take the judges course. It is a really great course educating everyone on what standards in each movement looks like both to help you as an athlete and support others in their journey. If you want to take the judges course here is the link: Judges Course

Q: I can only make it to 2 Fridays, Can I still participate?
A: Yes, of course! Come for 1, 2, or all three Fridays!

Q: Can my family come watch?
A: This is dependent on Covid. Currently family members are welcome to watch and hangout in the designated area. We encourage everyone not competing to wear a mask and keep a safe distance from others.

Q: I am nervous. What should I do?
A: PARTICIPATE!!! If you are nervous you can always come watch the first night and see what you're missing :)

Q: Will there be scaling options? I can’t do muscle ups, or pull ups yet…Can I participate?
A: YES!! All workouts will have a scaled version released as well. It will be all inclusive. The Open is where a lot of firsts happen, so maybe this is the time to get that first pull up!

Women’s Health Workshop coming in APRIL!

All women, hear me roar: Pelvic Floor Dysfunctions are common BUT NOT NORMAL!

Many women struggle during exercise or with simple daily activities with symptoms such as pelvic pain, varying forms of urinary or f***l dysfunctions, and even diastasis recti. This can happen to any woman whether she’s had children or not. Even if you do not have pelvic floor dysfunction symptoms right now, this is a great event to help strengthen your deep core!


During this two hour workshop, Coach Heather Ford, and Laura Freeman, PT, DPT, will take a dive into the pelvic floor and the deep core to provide education AND practical application. We will spend an hour discussing types of symptoms, where they come from, and ways to address them! The second half of the workshop will be spent MOVING. We will practice movement progressions, breath work, and even a mini workout--all in an effort to promote healing!

This week we continue to progress through our 4 week strength cycle. If you’re finding a specific lift difficult during this cycle, touch base with your coaches to work through progressions, technique, and recovery. This Thursday we will have a core piece added in before the partner metcon and we will end the week with the hero workout Meadows. Hey, LNF Community!

Are you interested in a fun, fitness oriented volunteer opportunity? Does your job require a certain number of volunteer hours every year? Here's your chance!

Every Saturday, Lincoln Nutrition and Fitness partners with the Down Syndrome Association for Families to provide a CrossFit class for athletes with Down Syndrome from 11:30-12:30. This class partners volunteer coaches with 1-2 athletes with Down Syndrome so these athletes can experience fitness in a group class setting. We have a lot of fun each week as our adaptive athletes experience what it means to do CrossFit, and we are growing! We consistently have 10+ athletes in class each Saturday.

The CrossFit Open has come and gone. A huge thank you to everyone that volunteered to judge during Friday Night Lights, it couldn’t have been done without you! This week’s programming will look to establish one rep maxes in our deadlift, push press and power cleans. These maxes will be found in 10 minutes. Make sure to go into each day with a goal weight and a plan on how to get to that weight. Talk to your coaches if you have questions on what to shoot for or how to make your weight increase during the sets.
